Is there a way to search for old triple crown threads (2009, 2008, 2007)? They are not present on the archive section or maybe I am missing something. Thank you.

They are all dead and gone if they were in a special forum just for the triple crown. I know there was a special forum for 2009 but I don't know if there was for the years before that.
If they were in the regular forums they are still hanging around.

I was looking specifically for a great post (as usual) by Dan G regarding either the 2007 or 2008 Kentucky Derby in which he posted some stats looking at how previous Derby winners related to HTR proprietary rankings. It really helped that year in narrowing the field. Hey Dan, do you remember that post and would you mind re posting it ? Last time it was on the open forum since one would need HTR to benefit from the info but if you feel that non members would get an unfair advantage I completely understand. Thank you for your great insights and all the information you share with us.

I didn’t save it Ariel, but I’ll check an older computer after today’s action that might have some version of it. No promises unfortunately, but thanks for the kind words.

Isn’t this poetic Ariel with Mine That Bird breaking virtually every “rule” last year…LOL :D
Let’s see if it gets back on track this year. (BTW: Right now Gupta is saying my old computers are cluttered with crap! :))
Derby Elimination Method…
What the heck…
Everyone has one…right? So far I’ve heard all these and then some in my lifetime;
• Dosage (which btw gets a bad rap imo)
• # of preps
• Minimum last out finish
• No jockey has ever won whose first name was “Satch”.
• No trainer has ever won by greasing the saddle with pork fat. (I could be wrong on this one)
Anyway…here it goes. It’s focused on the win end and as we know all too well…opposites can very much attract when it comes to exotics. All classic HTR nuggets and based upon 2000 – 2007. At the end I’ll put up a little score sheet of this year’s runners and we can watch them all complete the super for $100 grand!!!
1) nWorkout Rating <81 (It’s actually <81.28)
• 35-0-0-2
2) Last published workout is graded “C” or worse by HDW / HTR.
• 34-0-1-1
3) nForm Cycle: <75
• 100-1-6-5
4) Class Fit =2 (Or, as displayed on HTR2 as “-“ after the class rating)
• 81-1-5-5
5) rC90 >10
• 54-0-5-3
6) nPED <450
• 36-0-1-2
7) Pace Top =1 (Pace top in last, but NOT a final top)
• 19-0-0-1
8) JKCH >0. A rider change of any kind…perceived as good or not.
• 53-1-2-1
9) Calculated field; (LiveP / LiveS). The export has a “live” rating for up to 10 starts and this just divides the two #’s and those with below 70% “live” efforts are…
• 39-0-2-1
That’s it…there are plenty when you match various velocity numbers to running style etc…but I thought I would stick with these ratings because their not quite as open to interpretation. (Except for the last couple)
Do you get the feeling if this much effort went into the 4th MCL at our local track we would all be better off?
Best of luck and please don’t let this talk you on / or off someone you like. This is just what a fanatic does in between doping out races.
Enjoy!!!
