View Full Version : AQU Cramers Fast to Wet

Just figured out I've had a bad phone line for my modem while the regular phone line has been fine. Spent 2 days replacing modems & talking to service reps before I thought to plug my phone into the modem's phone jack. Guess I've got 2 good modems now:)

Last Sun I printed the AQU card condensed PP's & then the track came up muddy/good. When I changed to wet dirt under scratches the Cramer numbers for TRK changed on some horses.
E.G. In race 9 (12/9) #2 Windsor Court was a 68 TRK but changed to a 78 TRK under wet-dirt.
The kicker is that the horse had never been on a wet track, so it wasn't because he'd had a big slop race off his PP's.

The only explanation I have is that the track numbers were for AQi under fast track but reverted to AQU (main) under wet track. Some of these numbers did go down so I don't think it's an all AQU races #.

Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas KM?

Thanks,

Ken

Very interesting quirk there Montana.

Let me check that out - it takes a lot of work to deal with the one and only inner-dirt in the world and it is tricky trying to separate it in code from AQi, AQU wet, AQU main. It would really help if Equibase would rename it AQI so it would be a separate entity.

Must be an explanation for that change of numbers.
thanks

You were absolutely right in your assumption Ken.

The bugaboo happens only on AQi when you switch to "wet" track.

When the racefiles come in the surface code is either "D" =dirt "N"=inner dirt (AQU only)

When you change to "wet" in the scratch screen, the surface code become "W" internally.
That does not change the name of any other track, except AQi reverts to AQU (main track). Just as you guessed it did.

At least it is doing one thing right initially, and that is finding the horse's best figure on the either AQi or AQU separately, not both. No logical way to solve the problem in code on AQi wet. My suggestion would be to leave the fast dirt in place at AQi for printing the pp's. Then switch to "wet" if computing the velocity.

BTW: the HTR2001 update for Dec 15 will have a new item the allows you switch all the tracks to dirt or wet with one click on the scratch screen. Thanks to Gary A for his suggestion on that.

Thanks Ken--made for some interesting handicapping that 1st day I noticed it!
