I'm for anything that works, but I don't know.

One thought you could look at it from a impact value point of view. If you just looked at each running style and figured the win% and then looked at the jockeys win% by running style and see if the joc really makes a difference.

The other problem I see is that in any given race you have jocs with different no of races and various win% Who really has a better chance today the joc with 200 rides and tha 20% wins or the one with 15 rides and a 43% wins?

Just don't really know how to use the info and I have ths same sort of problems with trainer win% oriented stuff.

Yeah I dunno either. The numbers on the spreadsheet are real real wacky. Hope it works but will provide an update soon w/ more jocks. If you guys are using this, let me know how it works.

Mike.......have done quite a bit of IV checking plus A/E (actual vs Expected) and find that jockey preferred runstyle does make a difference. The A/E on each jky "preferred" runstyle is very good.

Like you, am very confused by situations you described where a jockey has many starts and a decent win percent and another has only a few starts and outstanding percentage.

Am beginning to believe that high ROI on a runstyle is more important from a wagering viewpoint.
Have been testing the heck out of above and only definate conclusion is am now "blocking" results
where jockey has less than 10 starts on a runstyle.

Not sure RS analysis has any value other than as one more tool in making final decision. I do know some races have a horse with such an overpowering edge that even I could ride him home first. And my runstyle would be "tied on the horse so I don't fall off". In that situation runstyle is meaningless.
