Would like to follow up on Georges' suggestion for a user survey for the Vegas seminar. If you are attending the conference perhaps you could provide us information on your level of access knowledge.
1. Are you using Access 97 or 2000.
2. Are you bringing a laptop to the conference
2. Are you importing both htr data and impact data
3. Are you joining htr and impact tables
4. What type of queries can you use. Select, make table, append, update, delete.
5. Do you use the ROI calculator
6. Do you make your own access reports
7. Do you use a main menu with buttons that you created
8. Have you programmed your own vba modules

Neil,
I think Mike was working the bugs out of his VBA code! :D Sometimes you gotta see if the audience is still with you or not!!

1. Using Access 2000.
2. Don't have a laptop. Suggestions?
2. I am importing both htr data and impact data
3. I am joining htr and impact tables
4. Doing all queries O.K.
5. I use the ROI calculator. Would like to know how to modify it to a place calculator also, haven't figured it out yet. If we could learn how to do that I would like it. Is anybody able to test their spot plays for place?
6. Don't make my own access reports. What would I use a report for, other than ROI? (Maybe Impact Value?)
7. Don't use a main menu with buttons that I have created. Don't know how or why.
8. Haven't programmed my own vba modules. Don't know anything about vba, but would like to learn.
later,
Carl

Neil, so you don't like my numbering system....maybe that why my vba modules won't run!
Carl- need suggestions with no 2. That's easy, part with some of those wininngs and buy one!

Geez Mike, move money over from "operating capital" to "capital expense"?
Guess I could, but would I feel bad then everytime I have a winner and have less money on it. If I decide to go back to W-O-R-K and end up on the road a little, I will though. (Although my wife can do my download/read out spot plays stuff fine.)
My question was more directed at "what do I need in a laptop" as far a requirements to download access and read out my spot plays. It looks like I have about 1.78 Gigabites in my access files now, but I could trim that if need be. I have some tables saved "just in case" I want more information.
BTW, thanks for the Seabiscuit interview link. Enjoyed it.
later,
Carl

A few general questions about your Access seminar and HTR:
Since Ken is promising to have the new Windows version of HTR ready - at least in beta - for the seminar, and is not planning an upgrade of export program,
- will you be talking about how to run queries using the new Windows version?
- will you have had some "hands-on" time with the new Windows version prior to the seminar?
- will you at least be making reference to differences in old DOS vs. new Windows version?
- or for the purpose of your seminar, does it really not matter what version of the product we'll be using?

2 I import anything I touch
3 I'm a joiner...always have been
4 the only queries I haven't been able to figure out are the ones that will let me quit my day job....Carl?
5 live and die by it

Don't think that the new windows version of HTR will have any effect on what we are doing. I believe the the Windows version of HTR will simply be HTR screens in windows as opposed to DOS.
Now if Ken is going to introduce some new factors in the windows version of HTR, we will not have them in them for export to access until he adds a export function to the windows version of HTR and includes any new HTR factors.
