We saw some interesting new faces at the sales this year. The Mexicans were buying horses and the French were the leading buyers of weanlings in the November sales. I'm not sure where the money was coming from, but I never understood where all that Irish money came from either.
What does that have to do with handicapping? I think we will see some new faces in the Mdn and 2 yr old ranks next year. Who knows? Maybe they will handicap different. I would think a first time starter from a French or Mexican owner/trainer would not gain much attention early on...but for me, I'm going to watch for them.
