So we have American jocks, English jocks, Dubai Jocks, Japanese jocks, etc. etc.
NO ONE wants to challenge a horse loose on the lead in a 6 million dollar race?
Fourteen horses went to post and no one seemed to want to get within a head of Aaron Gryder. I do not believe in "fixed" races. but remove the 6 million purse and put this race on American soil (say at Mountaineer) and we all would be scratching our heads.
It was just amazing to see this. Either Well Armed ran the best race of the year BY FAR, or we saw a classic example of why Jocks wear size 3 hats.

Taking NOTHING away from Well Armed Jim; that was one gold rail / speed biased track imo. He does appreciate that one turn configuration more then switching leads twice imo.
Look at the bright side Jim; 6 days and its…Play Ball and your Phillies can raise that championship banner! :)

Sure NOW you tell me, after they close the track. :D
Is that horse really 14 lengths better than any other horse in the world? Doubtful and hopefully spotted in a betting race with a decent field on his return to the states.

Agreed 100% with Dan here. I tossed Well Armed earlier but got back on but did not hit the all button in the second slot, which cost me $22,000 in the trifecta, but whose counting:mad:
I would also downgrade Regal Ransom effort and upgrade Desert Party. I think Party will be a square price if he runs in the Derby.
Well Armed will never win a grade 1 race on a fair track, strickly 1 1/8 horse in my opinion.
Damm, this is the second time today I've agreed with Dan, gotta stop that.
Hey Dan, did I ever tell you that the takeout needs to be.....

I need to bookmark this thread. Jim and I agree often and with Gupta being from NY / and I’m from NJ it’s occasionally the east coast version of the Hatfield - McCoy feud! :D
I agree Jim; the winning margin was certainly inflated and he hit the “old Keeneland conveyer belt” mid stretch.
Thinking out loud; what will the economic breeding conditions will do for our handicap horses? We “may” have a few of these good 3yo’s think about grabbing purses next year instead of declining stud fees.
