Something that I have notice that works real well, sometimes at huge prices especially w/ little known trainers is old HTR TRN1 and top Sire FTS Win% from screen<8>. Can't test this now so don't know long term success. Just an observation.

Good observation Glen. Have cashed some monster hits off that. And I rarely play maiden races, but do check to see if TRN1 and SIRE FTS WIN % high. Ken asterisks the high ones on Pscn screen. When I see one of those at long odds (20-1 or greater) I always take a shot.

I'm a little confused about the * in the sire rating. First I thought it was a positive. Then I thought it was a marker for to few races for accurate results. Then I run accross the 6th race a AQU.

the 4 horse...#1 TRN..the sire rating has a *..but...he's ranked about 6th in sire rating and with higher ratings don't have the *, his number is only 430. the FTS stats are not impressive at 8%. over 3600 races..so it's not to few races. Not sure why he has the * by his rating.

I like the looks of this colt...4 good works...good trn..ok jky...but I dont' get the rating

HELP!!!

I contributed to your confusion with my statement above about the asterick. The asterick merely means the sire percent is for First Starts whereas the non-asterick percents are for this race distance and surface.

The asterick merely calls your attention to them. When I then find one of them has a high percentage (16-50%) with a number 1 TRN and is not being bet (long odds) usually make a small wager. Surprising how often they seem to hit.

Anytime the favorites are not FTS who have a mediocre figure or have earned a decent fig vs. a slo EP I automatically check the FTSers for lasix/workouts/trainers/sire production.

I'll often bet 3 FTS horses if their odds all exceed 15/1 & I'm sure I'm way ahead on this type of bet. Have to have lasix but prefer sire rtgs, then trn rtgs, finally wo's.

If there is a horse with a par or close pace & final fig I pass or, if a K1, bet lots (comparatively speaking) on the par horse.
