Having spent an inordinate amount of time in the last 3 months trying to find the right mixture of factors to exploit all this fine data we all receive daily I think I may have uncovered an interesting and ridiculously easy method.

Here it is-on the Consensus screen your primary contenders are the top 4 ranked Velocity horses. Jot them down. Then sort by Ev and circle any of the top 4 velocity horses that are ranked in the top 4 of Ev.Then go to Screen 4 and cross out any horse that is less than Prob 9%. If you are left with one horse it is an automatic play.

Here is what this method uncovered at 4 tracks-AQU WO CD HOL

Aqu7-4 out
Aqu 9-6 out
Wo5-1a $4.50
Hol7-7 $6.20
Cd4-4 out
Cd5-8 out
Cd6-7 $17.80

If you do the math-Bet $14 Return $28.50-If I can double my money on no brainers like these I'm a happy camper!
There were also 2 seconds-Aqu7-$11.40-which broke my heart because it was the B&B contest race and this doggie ran his eyeballs out-and CD4(a meagre $2.80)
So out of 7 possible plays 5 of these things ran 1st or second.
I realize one day does not a system make but if any db guys can run this there may be some merit to it.

do you have lotus 1-2-3 ??? some of these simple spot plays are easy to research with lotus.
and Its easy to import the data......

Ernie--its on my computer at w**k--problem is whenever I do HTR things on the w**k computer the boss man looks at me like I'm ripping him off (no sense of humour-doesn't he realize that people were not meant to be enslaved for the entire 8 hours?)

Ernie,
Easier to to it with a db.

It may be track specific. Overall with over a years worth of races show a loss of about $0.14 per dollar bet. Seems to be about the same over dirt and turf. Also for distance.

Thanks Ricks

Try this-(have been tinkering with it)
How about adding that it MUST be K1 and it MUST have the top aggregate numbers if you add PER and CLA

Also may be turf specific--two winners on the weeds today

The 6th at CD (turf) today-the 7 was K1-top PER and CLA aggregate and for some ungodly reason paid $17.80

Min. odds of say 5-1 may help the roi as well

Adding K1 on the turf made for a good play at CD with about 23% ROI but not turf overall.

Will try to take a look at adding PER & CLA tomorrow. Maybe I can do it without having to try and use MikeDee's ranking module.:D

Took me most of the afternoon to get MikeDee's module to work in AccessXP. Trick was getting the right reference libraries loaded.

K1 only worked to greatly reduce the number of plays.

Adding the nPER with nCLA and taking the top number didn't help.

I'll try to look at it some more tomorrow.

Thanks again Ricks

As with any method I have ever used-if I exercise patience and wait for the right price I can usually stay ahead of the mob. This play breaks even if you consider the track take, which aint a bad starting point. Would be interested to see it broken down by odds.
