I do a lot of research with ROBOT!

BUT, no matter what I do, I don't seem to be able to research
KLINE-ODDS.

Though I check the KLINE-ODDS circle----
I always get----
MORNING LINE ODDS analysis----
but not KLINE!

Any idea what I'm doing wrong??????

Thankxxxx!

I just did a quick test using odds of 10:1 to 99:1 under LearnX for both MLO and Kline.

They are not the same results.

What are you doing that makes you think they are the same?

I'm using ---
LEARN MORE:

And when I check MLO--
and RUN:
and then
check K-odds
and run-----
I get the very same numbers!

I just ran Learn More on the month of Nov 08

The only thing I set was MLO 10/1 to 99/1.

and

Kline 10/1 to 99/1.

They were not even close to being the same.

What settings are you using?

YES----
When I change the odds range to 10--99,
my numbers are now different.

Before, I was leaving the ODDS RANGE
unchanged----
1/9----99-1.

I need to do more experimentation to understand exactly what
information I'm developing.

I SUSPECT
THAT I have some kind of a missunderstanding.

THANKXXXX for your time and help.

ANOTHER QUESTION:
IF, DURING A TEST, I GET "HUNG UP"------
what is the best way to handle it?

If you mean by "hung up" that it looks like the screen has frozen, that is OK. Wait it out.

There are many times that the screen looses focus as HTR is processing the data in the background. It helps if you have a indicator light on your computer that shows that the hard drive is still working.

My new computer doesn't have that and I wish it did.

If you mean something else let me know.

I think your numbers are the same with the odds unchanged because 1/9-99 will always be every horse no matter what odds type you choose.

Thanks so much for your help---and your time!

Really appreciate it.

As for "frozen"-----
that was exactly what I meant.

FYI, my Pentium 4 takes 30-45" to run a year test and appears "frozen" within a minute. You can minimize it and the HTR screen and browse the internet or perhaps, run other programs while you wait. It's a wonderful tool as you acclimate.

I think I am now straight on ---
1: MY ODDS QUESTION---
2: MY QUESTION ABOUT BEING "FROZEN".

I now have one additional question.

When I "APPEAR" TO BE FROZEN----
AND WAIT ----
once my computer finishes doing its analysis---

it shows that the analysis is COMPLETED----
but does not switch over to the
STATISTICAL PAGE!

It remains on the original ROBOT PAGE, the one where I set the various factors.

QUESTION:
Is there someway to "force" it to switch over to the statistical page
without simply starting over????????

It opens behind the other HTR windows.

What I have noticed is an icon appears on the taskbar, something like a light bulb. I click on that a couple to times to get it to appear on top.

You might also be able to minimize the other 2 HTR windows and get it to appear. I would have to try that to see if it will work. Looking for the icon is the best clue for me.

I have my task bar set to verticle and always visible. It makes it easier to see when the icon appears. It can get lost on the horizontal task bar.

I do a LOT of Robot work with past races and this has happened (opens behind the other windows) to me many many times.
Rick is correct in that if you minimize the "Robot" screen, the results will pop up.
And this will happen even though many times it's not showing on the task bar (below) beforehand.
At times, it just seems to pop up out of nowhere ! But a lot of times I'm using an older version of HTR.
Try minimizing JUST the Robot screen and see what happens. It doesn't always work, but most of the time it does.

Also, the "frozen" screen is absolutely normal because the "refresh rate" of your monitor can not keep up with the (warp speed) calculations.

Robot II eliminates the disappearing data screen problem by putting everything on one display that is kept in front of you.

re: current Robot
This is largely a Windows system problem that i can't control very well. Apparently if the main Robot screen is clicked at any point during a test run, it will hide the eventual data screen even though the code instructions are to display the data on top. I guess Windows accepts a screen click or even mouse brush or highlighter as a reason to re-size the original screen and hide the second one. So you can usually avoid this problem by not touching anything until the Robot finishes.

The solution in Robot II was to eliminate the second (data) screen and put the test results on the work screen. How on earth did i find the room to do this on a busy Robot filter display? That's one of the innovative features you'll like aobut the new Robot.

As far as the freezing counter --- as Paladin explains, it is the display refresh going slower than the computer processing which is whizzing through those races and the monitor can't keep up. I'll try a couple of solutions, perhaps counintg every 10th iteration or something and see if that fixes it.

MINIMIZING
gets me to the
STATISTICAL PAGE!

Great info----
Great saving of time.

Thankxxxxx again for all your knowledge and time.
