They have had this race on the books for a while Donnie hoping CD wanted a prep.
I think your smelling a rat like you did when they gift wrapped that allowance score for War Pass at Gulfstream. I remember that was a red flag for you at the time. You followed that by calling his ‘dragging anchor at Tampa Bay Downs! (At about 1/9) :)

The optional claimer will be Casino Drive’s first start since winning the Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park on May 10.
Aren't we droppng more than one level here, Dan? Guess if I valued my horse (read as "believed in"), I would be looking for a minor Stakes race to beat up on....unless, of course, you don't want to be shamed of a loss before the BC. Imagine if he loses this claiming race....??!!

It is roughly 2 levels from an overnight stake Donnie. Saratoga ran a bunch of OCL this year without a single runner entered for a tag.
Here are the avg EPR’s for Casino Drive’s Age, Sex etc at SA.

Thanks for the additional info Dan. But in reality, then, the horse is actually taking a 4 level drop...from grade 2 down to an optional claimer. Sorry, just my "inner alarm" going off again. Hope he makes it to the BC. May be a great bet-against. Would definitely stir the pot! Will be watching this one from the sidelines very cosely Sunday.
