I am tracking down horses that show up in HX4 with the RAODD field = 0 when I have the charts.
Some run for purse money only like Targesti in the 1st at Saratoga on 7/28/08.
Some are in weird races like the 7th and 8th at Presque Isle on 7/23 or the first five races at Delaware on 6/28 where they had no betting.
Some weird horses like Eggbert Dolly in the 4th at Woodbine on 5/30 had such a bad start, they were declared a non starter even though they ran 4th.
Likethatonlybeta was horrible enough in the 7th at Indiana Downs on 5/27 to get a refund as well.
OK, so by now you are all saying get to the point! So here it is, do you think the Morning Line Odds and Morning Line Odds rank should also be set to zero for these horses?
I know we are talking about less than 100 of them per year. But just like that 25 cents off in the check book, some people are "into" data integrity.
When Morning Line is compared to acutal odds, all of these horses either get a zero ratio or a divide by zero.
