I have downloaded the HTR demo and HTR for Windows 2001....
Do I use the regular HTR or the Windows version. What do I use for which?

Thanks

Bruce,

This is the way I do it.
Use HTR DOS, Impact and TLC to make notes of potential plays. I then make a list of those and then go into HTR Windows and look at the past performances to determine if it is a play or not.
Just one of many ways. Guess the best way is the one that you are most comfortable with....Takes lots of time to get a routine down...

Bruce,
HTR2001 is going to replace HTR and all the DOS programs.

Ken is still trying to program everything in there.

But while he is doing that he has added some things that aren't in the DOS programs.

Check everything out and try to figure out which parts compliment your style of handicapping. Start off with that - then evolve from there (or not).

The trick is finding what works for you.

Bruce:

My suggestion is to download Prat & use screen 2 to get a quick look at the horse's ability & form. Then i bounce around like Glen.

I like the old HTR PPs because they give the paceline figs, but HTR 2001 has lots of new goodies--horse's lifetime record & year record at sur/dis/trk, jock & trainers record with the horse, jock rating, better pedigree ratings.

There are some very good posts on HTR if you wade back through the bulletin board & browse. I think we should have another section for the old posts that do a particularly good job of explaining HTR or handicapping in general (like your BC post!). Also KM's newsletters are obviously a good place to look for info.
