TOTALLY CONFUSED

Before my Comp crashed, I downloaded my races to HTR2 and then I exported them into Access. When I was done I hit the delete key that Donnie made for me and it cleared all my files in C HTR and C HTR DATA. I then deleted the races from Access and HTR2. Now I was now ready to download the next days races.

I dont save any races.

My delete key no longer works since I got my new comp. I now have WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM AND SERVICE PAC 1 (64 BIT) My delete key no longer works and I dont know how to use Macros to make another one. Matter of fact I dont know what files I should delete so that my program in access only sees the races I just downloaded.

I tried deleting everything in c htr data and then certain things in c htr or visa versa, but i deleted something wrong and i had to download HTR2 again.

I know how to delete my race files from Access and HTR2.

What is the easiest way to delete those files from C HTR and C HTR DATA, so i can import only the new races from HTR2?

Thanks for any help

Easiest may be to get Donnie to make something for you again.

What I would do.

Don't use C:\htr\ as a download directory. Reason: The program files are there.

Just make a subdirectory like C:\htr\working\ (the name doesn't matter). You can then open that directory when you are ready to delete everything hit Ctrl+A (to select all files), hit the delete key and hit OK/Yes to delete them.

For c:\htrdata\ you can just delete the directory every day.

When I download HTR2. I right click on download then and Save Target As--then Save in C:\htr\working. Is this correct ?

Before I done the above I went into my C drive and tried to make a new file htr\working file but it said i couldnt use a \.

What did i do wrong now?

Thanks

You don't have to enter the \

Just go to C:\htr\ and click on File > New > Folder and enter name for subdirectory and hit enter.

Gambler,
You might check out the Gary's KeyRace program that you can download from the download latest htr software page. I also have the same Vista that you have and some things work fine and some don't.
In the keyrace program you can delete all the race files in HTR without deleting any other files in the HTR dir. I use it many times a day and it works great for deleting the files in
C/HTR dir.
Good Luck with Vista. I am happy with it and the only thing I have trouble with is trying to download the race files from the HDW HTR software Data File Library I get a "Access is denied" message and have not been able to get it to work. I can download the files one at a time but that takes to long so I just use the HTR2 program to download the daily files without any problems.

Have you tried John's HTR File Rat?

Works great.

The only time I experience a problem with it is when IE is logged into the download site and then I try to use the File Rat. Seems like strange behavior but I then have to close IE to get the Rat to work.
