Has anyone used or considered using a subnotebook computer to run HTR while at the race track or simulcast facility?

If so, any suggestions on where to find an inexpensive one that will do the job?

Reddy, searched pcmag.com for Toshiba Libertto –
here’s some of the info found.

Of course, if you want a 100% compatible portable to-go,
and want it in the tiniest size possible, there's the
2lbs VHS-case-size Toshiba Libretto series of notebooks
(discontinued in US, still avail. on ebay.com, still sold in
Japan).

silverace.com/libretto/ has truckloads of information on
this model. eg. get a Toshiba Libretto L110 series on
ebay.com for $500-700 and you can literally hide it
underneath a college textbook. The even smaller
L50/70 series will fit inside a man's Dockers pant's
pocket and goes for $200-400.

Paul's Libretto Webring - A webring for English sites
covering the Libretto.

Tomcat:
How does the Libretto get HTR data – direct download
from HDW or transferred data from your home computer?

How many HTR programs are on it, and how many
race cards can it handle?

What is the recommended model and what accessories
are needed? Thanks, John

a quick description of an older model, as found on Ebay:

THIS IS ONE OF THE WORLDS SMALLEST COMPUTERS EVER CREATED. THIS TOSHIBA LIBRETTO 70CT RUNS ON WINDOWS 95 WITH A 120 MHX MMX INTEL PENTIUM PROCESSOR. 1.6 GIG HARD DRIVE AND 16 MB RAM. . IT COMES WITH A 3COM 56K MODEM CARD FOR EASY INTERNET ACCESS. AOL 5.0, NORTON ANTIVIRUS, COMPLETE VERSION OF OFFICE 97, NO DEAD PIXELS. BEAUTIFUL LITTLE MACHINE. POWER SUPPLY WITH CABLE IS INCLUDED

Many others have much better stats....I am impressed with the 1.6 gig HD on this model tho...especially for something so small
