A couple of additional notices =
The text Charts now have unit wager prefixed to the exotic prices, $1, $2 etc
- thanks Ron
(this has no effect on parsing or data extraction because it was placed in blank columns and nothing else was moved)
There is a new Scratch file available on the HDW download site. This is a visual text file for now that you can use (look at the bottom of the Archive area for Scratches). When the tracks send their scratches to Equibase, it is transmitted to HDW every 15 minutes and they update this file.
In the next upgrade to HTR2 in July, we'll utilize this information for an auto-scratch feature. But recognize that this is not up to the minute info and you'll still need to manually remove some of them if they occur right before the race.

Wow!! Ask and you shall receive. You guys are incredibly responsive and open to suggestions from your customers. It's as if you really do work for us --
Thank you Ken, Ron, et al at HDW --

The scratch file and unit price on exotics are two of the best upgrades you men could have given us…thanks very much!
Newsletter;
Among people who can actually write, they say everyone has “one” book in them. Beyond that 1st book is what separates the true talents from the mere mortals. How in the world you keep finding fresh approaches to attack this game is truly impressive. This isn’t typing for the sake of filling pages…these are cutting edge / real-world approaches that most players wouldn’t share with their clergy to be frank.
Please excuse this thread detour… :o
The whole HTR / HDW experience so far reminds me of a music analogy. I’m one of those nuts who like (relatively obscure) instrumental music and the players, ensembles I support draw maybe 300 live in most small venues. I saw Steve Morse in Orlando a while back and he played as if his life depending on it. During a particularly amazing solo the guy next to me leaned over and said…”Aren’t you glad we get it.” That sums up this experience with you good people so far…I’m glad I’m among the lucky who “get it”.

Being one of those "one book mortals", I can tell you it was an interesting experience. I can tell a lot of stories, but none for public view.
The best part was selling all the books myself instead of trying to get someone else to publish it. I'm very proud of that part.
I have written for publication others, but they were not about handicapping.
I had something good to say, and it was something that I use everyday and it has kept me handicapping($). I say that because of all the people that try to sell stuff they don't use them selves.I've had a lot of compliments and thanks from people who use my formulas to this day. That's been the good part.
I thank Ken for his help and especially his advice.

I have nothing but respect for people who write TomCat. I hope my attempt to convey that didn’t insult anyone who has written.
I’m still very much in the zero column in the book writing department; so I’m certainly the last person to pass judgment. :o
Enjoy your weekend!
