Although I have made a few posts and even made a couple of (winning) picks in the Sept. B&B contest, I haven't officially said "hello" to you astute handicappers and offered up my appreciation for the excellent info and insight you provide here. I had hoped to start using HTR at the start of this month but the timing wasn't right and probably won't be until the start of the new year. I have been playing with the demo version (dos) and am quite impressed and am eagerly looking forward to using it.

With that said, I have a question: will it be possible to use the dos version with Windows XP?
I don't use XP but may wind up getting stuck with it when I decide to invest in a new computer in a few weeks and my understanding is that dos is history in XP.

Congratulations on your performance so far in the contest over at PA!

JAH-
Welcome! My understanding of XP so far is you WILL be able to run DOS based programs with it. Windows 2000 supposedly was not going to allow DOS. With that being said, my son just installed XP on his machine at home and I will call him late today to see if XP runs HTR on his machine at his house (it's my old computer and he is 13). If no one reports back here today I will find out by tonight.

Also Ken's latest brainchild is a windows version of HTR. If you haven't checked it out, I would highly suggest you go out to the opening page and download the two files you need for HTR 2001.. Slick new program written to run in Windows, and Ken is promising everything in all the others to be put into this one application! That should take him a while!! :D

Good luck and thanks for the kind words.

HTR DOS works w/ Win 2000. Husker Doug of So Cal was using it in combo last time I saw him in Vegas.

Yes, the htr dos program will run in WinXp. You can actually use the mouse when it is running in a window, unlike Win2000.

I have found that when exporting race data it gets awful slow after a few days. I am normally running 3-4 weeks at a time.

At a week worth or less it isn't too bad.
