Suggestion to Ken and Rick

How about if you start a topic called HTR 2000 Release Notes. In which you could consoldidate all of the postings on the new software and it would give us one place to look for any documentation on any of the new features as they are released?

Good idea, Mike. And Rick, what do you think if you locked that thread so that it doesn't get filled with questions or sidebars? That way it is a reference and not a "question dump"?

I like that as well. Q and A could go in another.

I will see what I can do but it will be in the form of a download, not a thread.

Q & A can be in General. Then when something new comes up it will be added to download.

And everyone can let me know when I leave something out, or they discover something new.

I may not be on the same train(of thought) as Mike & Donnie, but it seems to me that Q&A about any subject needs to be in the same thread/place as what your wanting to know/comment on......
First example for me would be to ask if any one is haveing(single screen) printing problems with the new upgrade ? "comment" before this download I haddn't had any trouble printing from/with the single screen button........two attempts yesterday caused my "gateway laptop" to freeze up..........

Suggestion for Rick: after Breeders Cup(two to ten days) close that thread and replace it with new product/upgrade thread..........

Now I'm off to the (BC) races......Good Luck to all

Ernie-
I guess my train of thought (which derails often!!) would be to see an area where a person could go to find *all* the spec sheets for each piece of software, along with any product update messages from Ken. Rather than see it getting buried by user questions, new subscribers could find answers to their questions first by downloading or reading the specs of a specific utility or program. Would be an initial huge undertaking, after that, as Ken updates his programs, the "What's New" posts would be assembled in one place. All of a sudden there are a lot of programs and the general spec sheets are scattered.

Just a thought...

Why not just start a whole new discussion subgroup called "HTR Questions", which would be similar to "Access and HTR"? Then we could create as many different threads as we needed.

I know I started it.....but you talk about train wrecks and other race track stories.....BC day, race book crowded to overflowing,no spare room at any table so I decided to travel light, meaning that I left my computer at home only taking printouts,3 hole punched in a binder...........after the BC races I start to look over the races from other tracks.........just about to make my move to the window when I notice that the "RESULTS" are already printed on the sheet(*&^%*^%&$%) What's this all about????........look at the date its the races from two days ago($%**&^&*). Learned that I'm degerate enough to look for a discarded racing form.....
Question....?? what does all those numbers mean? I never saw anything so confusing in ....in ...well a long time.......

I think Donnie has a good idea, our threads can get pretty far a field and if you are just looking to get Ken or Ricks finer points on a particular release of the software it would be nice to have one spot to look.

That was my point, Mike. Would be nice for newcomers as well to go to one particular place to find questions to answers. As the software is updated, sometimes the supporting materials are not. If I could get a week off work I would volunteer to update all materials, but that will never happen!
