from KenThis upgrade to the HTR2001 is dated Oct 25, 2001. Download available now in EXE form. Rick is preparing the Full Installation and will report here when it is ready. You need to download the (large) full installation package if you are new to HTR2001 or have been unable to get it working previously.
If the previous version of HTR2001 is working, then just download the EXE.
The Velocity Plus screen and 5 paceline modes have been completed. There are powerful new features that require some explaining. Full details will be available in the Nov newsletter available November 5. I will add more details on here and please ask your questions on this forum so all may read the answers. First the highlights --->
= paceline modes 1, 2, 3 are replicas of DOS version
= mode (4) has been changed and will be different from DOS version. It now selects the "perfect line" for every horse. This means a recent race at or about today's distance or surface. If such a line does not exist, the horse is ignored in the velocity screen. Horses with 6mo layoffs or more are ignored, for instance.
= mode (5) is similar but improved. And includes special code for off track paceline selection if you change to "wet track today" in the Scratch screen. The selected lines will be about 95% the same as DOS version - yet there are improvements.
= You can instantly change the paceline mode at any time by clicking the option box at the top right of the screen
= Velocity Plus screen is now a master level velocity data report and includes paceline details at the bottom for the selected lines. Also included are a complete projected chart of the race with 3 calls; projected fractions and final time (more accurate and closer to reality than DOS version); more data and expanded columns; bottom section may replace necessity to print out pp's for some of you. The projected 2f turn time appears in the 2nd section along with a new feature (suggested for the last 5 years by Ernie), the projected Stretch fraction. Notice horses that are unable to run the final 1/8th in better than 13 seconds. Those that pull at 12 second or better time are really motoring.
Remember - projected charts and times are based on one possible scenario (the selected paceline mix) and are not to be considered a touted order of finish. Use the material in context with all the other data on the screen.
