Hurrikane,

I do better on turf with my spot plays than I do on dirt.

I get them in two fashions:
1) I look at my dirt plays and see which ones work for turf also, then modify from there. Ev1 does not hit that often on turf, but when it does, boxcars.
2) Look for horses that runs "evenly", especially if it is first time turf. Again some boxcars here.

Would suggest you start by running your dirt plays as "turf only". See if you don't find some pleasant surprises. Ken has an old newsletter on turf play (probably back a year and a half or so) where he states that his tests show that 90% of the winners come from a group competitive with this class or better and having one of the top five lv's. (I am operating from memory here so if I am wrong someone please correct).

Would love to hear other posters views on turf also.

Carl

thanks Carl,

I've tried my regular spot plays but haven't found anything that really gets me excited. I used to play quinn numbers which are a type of lv I suppose with class to great success but havent' had a lot of success with lv. Will keep searching though.

Hurrikane,
I had made some notes where you were using:

dist>=8
mlo>7
Rs=*
jtw>25
K<4

Not sure if it was specifically for dirt or turf, but, wondering
if you ever had any success with this combination. My small
database was only generating negative returns on a test basis.

Thanks,
Cliff
