I do better on turf with my spot plays than I do on dirt.
I get them in two fashions:
1) I look at my dirt plays and see which ones work for turf also, then modify from there. Ev1 does not hit that often on turf, but when it does, boxcars.
2) Look for horses that runs "evenly", especially if it is first time turf. Again some boxcars here.
Would suggest you start by running your dirt plays as "turf only". See if you don't find some pleasant surprises. Ken has an old newsletter on turf play (probably back a year and a half or so) where he states that his tests show that 90% of the winners come from a group competitive with this class or better and having one of the top five lv's. (I am operating from memory here so if I am wrong someone please correct).
Would love to hear other posters views on turf also.
