For those interested in competing on-line for an NHC spot, the October contest will be the last chance with the $100 entry fee. And there may be 9 spots available in the final round.
This time they are allowing 300 entries (previous 200) in each prelim round and then 90 players maximum in the finals. If they get the 90 finalists, then 9 NHC spots are awarded.
The remaining online contests for NHC will be one-day events with higher entry fees. Read more....

Which do you think gives you the better chance ?
finishing 6th or better in field of 60
OR
finishing 9th or better in a field of 90?
yes, statistically it is the same top 10%, but when you have more players, it seems like the volatility increases. Same notion as a larger field of horses, or a chaotic mass like the WSOP main event - the favorites have more difficulties to overcome.
