If I hide some fields in access, when I do an import into access will all the data be imported even into the hidden fields???

How can I put some race files that are in HTRDATA back into HTR??

Thanks, Shadow

My first thought is why bother, but I guess that is because after putting the records in my table I only use it through queries.

I don't know for sure but would say yes. Test it make a copy of your table with or without records. Hide the fields you want to hide and import a few races. Then unhide some of the fields and see if there is data there.

The way to get races back in \htr is copy or move them. Copy is safer. I use Window Explorer. It easy if you have a range of dates, Have htrdata sorted by file name, click on first race date you want, use scroll bars to find end of range, hold down shift key and click on last race date in the range you want. Then left click drag to \htr to move them and right click drag to \htr, then click Copy to copy them.

You can also use the Find/Search (depending on version) to use wild cards to find all the races you want.

You can also do it in DOS with the copy command using wild cards.

If you need to move/copy them all the quickest way is to drag \htrdata to \htr where it becomes \htr\htrdata.

Tell us exactly what you want to do and one of us will explain how to do it. Its easier to give you an example when we know what you want to do.
