While out in LV someone put forth the suggestion that we use Wiki software to put together a site where we could build an HTR2 User Manual with the help of the users.
I agree that we need a user manual but no one has the time to write one by themselves.
I checked out the Wiki site and was not enthused about learning a new software package, so I had the idea of using http://71.18.152.128/forums//index.php (the HTR2.org forums0 to do it. I already had the forum set up there for TommyC to use when he was at handicapping and poker events. That forum is separate from our main forum here. To post at that forum you have to register. You can use the same username and password when you register there as you use here but you have to register.
I tried to make a separate forum for each HTR2 Screen for most of the buttons. I tried to add what I could find in the Newsletters to give them a starting point. On some I didn’t add much or I might not have added anything at all.
I need HTR members to volunteer and add as much information they can about a screen/button. We need to explain what everything is on the screen, what the data is, if there are any hot keys that work on the page, etc. Anything that would help someone to learn about that screen, button or feature.
If you think of something I missed you can put it under Other.
This is going to be an on-going project. I will probably try to consolidate everything into a pdf file as things progress and then try to keep the pdf file up-to-date as things are added.
You can also attach doc/rtf/pdf files to your post. Let me know if the forum will not let you attach something because of size, or email it to me, and I will get it posted or change the size allowed so they can be posted.
This isn’t going to be completed overnight but hopefully in a few months most of it will start to shape up pretty good.
All help appreciated.
If you notice something that is out of date, wrong or missing, go ahead and add it. If you know all or most of the details about a screen, go ahead and add it.
Thanks
