I have been running some spot plays through the Robot, as well as my Database, with very slight different results related to ROI (plays and win pct. are the same).

My question is, if the entrant that meets your spot play criteria is the 1A part of a couple entry, and the other half of the entry wins (in this case the 1) the race, does the Robot include the win price for the 1 as part of the return?

hi Mike,

use AQU-2007-03-22

do Get My Plays
with A. PER=1 for 1 and B. CLASS 1 for 1A

A will report 1 credit for Show
B will report 1A credit for win

Correct AWOL

MVM =
Robot counts only the individual horse in the tally. If the other half of the entry wins, the win%, etc. is not included in the stats. That does create a slight underrating of the ROI, but keeps the stats honest with all the factors and spot plays in terms of hit rates and impact value.

...MVM,
If you run "Get My Plays" you'll notice that the payoffs are rounded to the nearest dollar.
Could it be that this is also true when running "Standard Test".?
This would explain the difference in ROI, while the Win % and plays would still be correct with your db.

There used to be a good old high level claimer running at then, Exhibition Park in Vancouver, with your handle (Paladin) as his program description. He was one of the sucess stories of a treatment to reclaim horse with bowed tendons called Bow-Back.

Internally, HTR computes the exact prices for ROI, the rounded is just for display space saver

This explains the difference in my Access/Robot ROI. I mispoke earlier when I said that the hit (win) count was the same. I wasn't concerned with the rounding. The difference in the ROIs is generally small, I just wanted to make certain I was utilizing the Robot and interpreting the results correctly.

Hi gals/guys;

Be aware that a win price of $7.40 rounded down to $7.00 is close to a 5.5% "error."

May not be important UNLESS you are looking at whether or not to play that avg. paying angle if rebates are your thing. You might decide to forego the avg(?) $7, when in fact the rebate makes it an totally different situation.
