1. I looking at the Velocity screen BL1. There was only one paceline chosen and it showed 1c beaten length as 1.5 in the past performance. The Velocity screen BL1 showed it as 0.3. Why? How is that figure determined?
I am looking for the following when I handicapp a race.
What I am looking for is better ways to accomplish the following without looking at the past performance.
1. Contenders --I usually use top 4 in MLO and HTR.
2. Then I like to determine how competitive the race is going to be. I use the class rating.
3. Then I like to see if the contenders can compete at this level. I use the class rating.
4. Then I try and determine if the contenders can run to the 1c the way they like to when they win.
I tried using BL1, Quirin points and 1c time to determine this. Sometime the 1c time on the velocity screen is faster than any time in the past performance. I guess this is because of varients etc. Is that correct? BL Im not sure how that number is determined.
I am trying to find ways to make my handicaping time shorter, so I can play more races but still have a feel for the race. Any advise would be appreciated.
thanks
