1. I looking at the Velocity screen BL1. There was only one paceline chosen and it showed 1c beaten length as 1.5 in the past performance. The Velocity screen BL1 showed it as 0.3. Why? How is that figure determined?

I am looking for the following when I handicapp a race.

What I am looking for is better ways to accomplish the following without looking at the past performance.

1. Contenders --I usually use top 4 in MLO and HTR.

2. Then I like to determine how competitive the race is going to be. I use the class rating.

3. Then I like to see if the contenders can compete at this level. I use the class rating.

4. Then I try and determine if the contenders can run to the 1c the way they like to when they win.

I tried using BL1, Quirin points and 1c time to determine this. Sometime the 1c time on the velocity screen is faster than any time in the past performance. I guess this is because of varients etc. Is that correct? BL Im not sure how that number is determined.

I am trying to find ways to make my handicaping time shorter, so I can play more races but still have a feel for the race. Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks

G844,

A very simple way to make good selecitons is to use just the Impact Screen. Look for lone Early runners with a good level ranking that have a good + advantage at nice odds. Best to focus on tracks where early speed is good. Easiest way to see how good early speed is to check the Track Pro (track bias screen). Me thinks any track with 35%ish W2W winners at 6F is good. Even better to go back and look at KM handouts from seminar to determine what tracks might be best. Also the sheet should tell you what class of races are best. Below is a list of potential Impact Piggie plays for tomorrow.

1. 1alb2...out
2. 4alb4...out
3. 9alb6...out
4. 2del2...3rd 5.20
5. 5del1...out
6. 1fe1...win 12.30
7. 5fe8...win 7.70
8. 10fe6...2nd 3.7-
9. 11fe5...out
10. 3fl8...out
11. 6fl3...scratch
12. 8fl1...out
13. 6fp4...3rd 2.40
14. 10fp6...2nd 3.80
15. 4fpx2...win 3.40
16. 8fpx9...3rd 4.00
17. 10med3
18. 4mnr9...out
19. 3prm11...2nd 12.60

Adios,

re: to the BL on screen (1) of HTR. Those are the estimated BL for today's matchup. Do not confuse them with the actual BL from the pp's. The BL1 and BL2 estimates are a guide to estimating the today's field spread early in the race. Impact Esp dif is much more effective.
