I have a stange porblem - every month, when trying to import the data into Access for the whole month, I keep getting errors meassages that say cannot import data - error occurred.
If I go to a brand new DB, and import the table from the old DB, then try the import, it works.
Thing is, this is happening with every table, every month. Has anyone else seen this before?

Post the error msg you are getting.

Well, first of the month, and not one single export will go into the existing db.
I can put thim into a NEW on just fine, then export the old one to test files and import them.
But first time import has not worked for 4 months now.
The error message I get is "Invalid Argument"

I have about had it with Access - anyone using a diffenet DB - time to make a major change.

Thanks

That has happened to me from time time and I don't know why it happens either.

I make just make a new Db and then then import the tables from the bad Db into it and the new one works fine.

Have you changed the exporter (ie:upgraded to another version of HTR2) at all that the exported data is no longer "recognized" by the exsisting tables? That's what it sounds like the problem may be...especially since it started about 4 months ago, but you hadn't had a problem before that I assume.....

No, it is every export file - only good for one import then never again.

I took every tble that gave me the message, imported it into a brand new access database, and then they all imported no problem.

Then I tried to import again ( I held back Yavapia! ) and not one would take it.

email me a copy of the db that is giving you problems tomorrow and I will take a look at it and see if I can duplicate the problem.

Delete all records and do a compact and repair before emailing.

Tom it must be something in the tables.

try this but only one table just to see if it works.

Make a new db

go into your broken db and export one of the tables, but export it as a CSV file. This way it won't have any access stuff in the export.

Now import the csv file into the new db and then see if you can import htr files into it?

That worked.
Thanks Mike and Rick.
