Ronnie----My cousin has Verizon Broadband Wireless (59.95 unlimited) and absolutely loves it. Not available where I live or I would subscribe ASAP.

My friend in South Jersey got the Verizon plan for Broadband also. It is a nice option if you cannot be near a cable modem or DSL.
He has had it a few weeks and he has already lost service a few times. I guess that would depend on where you live. The biggest problem with an outage like this is that there really is no quick way to fix it. I guess you run the same risk of getting shut out at the Windows.
As more people use them I am sure they will become more reliable.

I simply use my cell phone. The $15/mo plan that Sprint has (PCS Vision) gives me unlimited service. This is a lot slower than broadband though but perfect for my level of usage and the price is right.

Thanks for the reply FRED. I have a couple quick questions. Is the usage unlimited ? Have you used it at any of the contests like in Vegas or at any racetracks. Thanks

FWIW - i've had great success with using my Blackberry as a modem. It generally connects at 115k speed (twice dial up) and I have used it for an entire contest without any additional charges over my basic monthly service bill.

Yes usage is unlimited and speed in Vegas is fast. I was in Pahrump last month (no, not at the Chicken Ranch) and the speed was faster than my Verizon FIOS at home.
I first got it when the only high speed cities were San Diego and Washington DC, now pretty much of America is covered.

I got the AT&T wireless air card for my little Sony. $49 month unlimited.
Very very fast now. Just a tad slower than cable Internet. It wasn't at first but they have upgraded their systems and it is suprisingly glib. Easy to install and operate. I need to upgrade to the USB version though, have the old style card-slot version now, but most laptops don't use those old slot size anymore.
Get the USB so you can use it on any computer. The Air Card is portable as long as you have the software to install.
I was able to get on the Internet in some of the most unusual places and bet and watch DMR last summer at the top of SQuaw Valley and out on Lake Tahoe in a boat!

The $49 unlimited is a great deal. Most that I have seen have limits on their data plans.
