Life goes on for the fortunate. We owe it to those who have fallen to continue our lives
as best we know how and to pray for their souls.

Words cannot describe the depths of empathy I feel right now for the people affected by these senseless acts of terrorism--I will let you people decide if you want to carry on for the moment in this contest. Personally,my heart is not really into it right now...

I tend to agree with you Canuck. When something like this happens, we all realize how precious all our love ones are. And spending more time with them seems much more clear than the need to handicap the next race.

My thoughts go out to families of each and every friend or loved one lost. I think each and every one of us who are old enough, remember exactly where we were when John Kennedy died. And this day too, will be remembered by all.

In closing, several days off seem appropriate.

Hopefully now of us are directly affected by this tragedy,

I'm not real interested either. What if we just postpone the contest for a few days?

Sounds good to me.

IF everything normalizes, why don't we let Swope pick one for Fri or Sat.?

I was doing this thing just for fun. It doesn't seem like much fun right now, so I concur with those suggesting a suspension of the contest.

I agree, maybe until later this weekend or even next week.

Hope everyone here & families & friends are safe. What a horrible day, especially for those with their loved ones involved.

Good Idea. I live here in the bullseye, work with DOD and was only a couple miles from the Pentegon when the plane hit. I'm certainly not thinking about races these day. Hopefullynext week things will feel a little more normal.

Hurrikane,

I hope you and yours are doing well under these trying circumstances. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and others on this board that may have had friends or relatives whose lives will be forever affected by this horrible act.

Regards,
Cliff

thank you Cliff. Everyone here is fine. Even friends and relatives in NY financial district all are ok. Thank you for your thoughts.

It has been a terrible week. But the enemy wants us to lay down, quit, hide under our beds.
I WILL NOT. If you guys are ready to get back to it, let's hear from you.
If not, I'll wait. I'm a guest here and do not mean to overstep my bounds. It's just the luck
of the draw "so to speak" that i'm up,

Markets open for trading Monday, and that seems appropriate to me.

I will say this, though, If I win, I don't want the Beer and Bacon from Canuck. Rather, I'd like him to take what he would have spent on the prize and give it to charity or a relief fund (and I'll match it). I like the idea of setting up funds to pay for college expenses of children who lost parents.

I'm gonna look for a race for tomorrow(sat) let's get it back in gear. Hey, that charity
thing sounds good to me too. Be back after a while.
