Got an update from Tommy and Stan at the contest.

Long lines prevented many players from getting in their selections and they had been DQ'd after day one for missing a bet. This included Stan who may have been the leader, he missed an optional (not a mandatory as previously reported).

But there was a predictable uproar and they recinded the rule and all the players were re-instated today.

Tommy said there were 179 players and that one of Cliff's entries was in the top 10 as well. Hope you guys hit a bomb and let us know the final news here.

(thanks TommyC for calling with the details)

Thankfully they recinded that ridiculous rule. If you miss a mandatory race you should just receive $0 for that event, thats it , thats all !:(

Good Luck Guys , Hit em hard today :D

Thanks again to Tommy for calling in the results at LoneStar. His friend and tournament regular Dennis Tiernan won it. None of the HTR gang finished in the top10 according to TC, and i guess there was some TEXAS sized hootin and hollerin to LS management about the contest problems again as mentioned in previous posts.

Hope to hear from Cliff and Mayo here later.

As many of you know, Lone Star has replaced most of its upper managment in the past six months or so. They have also changed tote systems in the past 90 days. The tournament director for the past 5 years is also gone. Add all of this up and it spells disaster. Many suggestions were made on Saturday during the day on how to improve some things which would help with scoring errors and help with placing wagers faster. They did actually implement some of them overnight and Sunday did run somewhat smoother. This years tournament director did not know the rules at the national level concerning missed plays. I did talk with him at length on Sunday morning about his decision to DQ some players and he finally agreed to reinstate them. In the end, this whole thing shows how bad things are at Magna. They always find the cheapest way out and they hire people with huge egos (like the owner) and it turns into a public relations nightmare.
