What a terrible day! Prayers to the thousands who have been affected!

It's going to boggle your mind at how fast, swift, and ruthless the world is going to deal with this. If you remember, it took the FBI five hours from the time the Oklahoma City bombing occurred to identify and round up Timothy McVeigh and company. It's obviously going to take longer here, but you can count on the cooperation of every nation on Earth in identifying and bringing these organizations to justice. Any country that offered the least resistance would find itself instantly ostracized from the 'civilized' world. And the country financing this (probably the Taliban in Afghanistan) will be attacked in a manner that makes it perfectly clear that future support of terrorist activities and harboring of wanted terrorists will not be tolerated.

On a global level, sales of instruments of war and terrorism should tighten significantly.

Which could all have been summed up by paraphrasing the words of Howard Beale (Peter Finch) in "Network":

"We're damned mad, and we're not going to take it anymore."

There's no way that this can be done without a few innocent people becoming victims of it. But it's a numbers game now, and a few innocents falling by the wayside is the better alternative to the many guilty continuing to go free and causing many more innocents to suffer in the future.

Yeah, we had our chance once and we blew it. we have our chance again...I hope we never forget the people who's freedom of life was taken away from them today. A friend of mine had a sister who worked in the Trade Center...they have yet to hear from her! Naturally they are fearing the worst.

(tv reports we lost 200 firefighters who were trying to help with the rescue... God be with their families as well!)
