Noticed this morning that a "George" posting at the PaceAdvantage board has created some controversy. Just like to state that the person posting there is not me. Have never posted on that board and rarely even read it.

George..you mean to say the ARE two Georges in the universe. :D

One thing about PAs board...they can have some very intelligent conversations about handicapping over there...they just seem to be getting fewer and farther between....

They're getting fewer and further between because a lot of people are afraid to post for fear of the ruling clique there (Larry Hamilton, karlskorner, etc.) jumping all over them if their views don't match the norm. And people have been known to be deleted there for stating candid opinions.

The HSH Shopping Network (aka Paceadvantage board) does have some good content, but as hurrikane said, one has to wade through more and more nonsense to get to it.

Gramps;

Just read your post where you linked me with Larry Hamilton, so I decided I better
join to defend myself.

I am not part of the ruling clique at PA's board and the only 2 people that I
know of that I jumped all over was Frank-Guru who was selling snake oil and
Slider when I told him to get off his soap box for pushing HSH.

If you know of any other times I abused someone, please answer on PA's board
as this board is full of Eagles and I am only a Kiwi bird walking on the ground.

Welcome to HTR Karlskorner.

"The views expressed by Gramps were his own only and do not necessarily reflect those of the other posters here".

I think all posters are unique, and bring their "points of view" with them. The only questions I really have with any posts here or at PA's are:
1) Do they further the thread? Are they of value in same?
2) Does the poster have an "agenda"? Is it open or hidden?
3) Can I learn anything from this post to improve my own handicapping? Can I contribute to the thread to improve other's handicapping?

I for one have enjoyed your posts at PA's. And any time you have anything to add to any thread around here, I for one would welcome it.

later,
Carl

karlskorner,

I read the posts at PA's sometimes, and, have enjoyed your insight into training, drugging, etc. Please feel free to post over here any time.

Regards,
Cliff

Karl: that's exactly what I mean. I didn't see Frank sell or even hint of selling anything on PA's board. If I remember correctly, he said that he wasn't selling or giving away any of his software. You're making a serious accusation without backing it up with anything but your assumptions. And Slider has the right to push HSH until the owner of the board tells him otherwise. It's not your place to put him in line.

And that's my point. When people like you and Larry take the law into your own hands and make accusations against others, like you did against Frank and like Larry did against the phantom 'messengers' of HTR (and against others in the past), the other users see these things and become intimidated. They won't post as much or as often (or in many cases, at all) for fear of being jumped on. Those that do post might hedge whatever they have to say or talk in generalities to avoid having the elitists pin them down to any one thing and take dead aim at them. It's just not a healthy environment in which to share ideas.

I for one find most of your on-topic posts very informative and enlightening and join others in welcoming you to the board here. But it would be nice if Ken and Rick were the ones who did the job of putting others in line when such a need arose.

Carl;

Thanks for the invitaion, but as I said this board is a land of Eagles, I don't know 1/2 of what your computer talk is about. I guess I am just a paddock person firing "single bullets" while everyone else is firing off shotguns.

Gramps;

If it looks like snake oil
smells like snake oil
reads like snake oil
You had better believe its ................
Go back and read some of Franks post (if they are still there) he want on and on about his new program he just put together and everyone was drolling. Snake oil. And his "redboarding" was atrocious, he was being praised to high heaven how he could pick the winner after the race had been run. Snake oil. It took PA awhile after a couple of nasty E-mails from Frank to realize who he was dealing with.

Nice post back Gramps.

Must admit, I didn't see "Frank" setting anybody up for a sell there, and as to Slider, I do think Karlscorner called him correctly not so much on pushing HSH but rather his high and mighty way of doing it.

And a lot of people sell a lot of stuff at Paceadvantage, I see it as a "so what". One way to educate the consumer, and as always it is "buyer beware".

Now a confession. I am a "adult child of an alcoholic parent". They even write books on us now, we have a "syndrome" (I am not making this up) even. And one of our "characteristics" is we/I have no idea about what normal is. And trust me, I don't.

So, this is one reason I don't post at PA's. I don't really know "what crosses the line" and what doesn't. What is "normal" and what is "not". So consequently I think I often "misposted" there and people found it offensive.

I am happy here, I basically just post about horses and databases. And I am happy at Yahoo, because it is impossible to post inappropriately in that garbage bin. It is the "middle of the road" sites that give me trouble.

yep one of the nice things about this board we talk about horses and numbers and when we get tired of that we talk more horses and more numbers.

Just my opinion...I think this thread has to die....or move to PAs board. Just my opinion.

Yeah, Race 4 MNR #9...Big longshot, top PSCAN, awsome figs on 4.5F Turf sprints and now stretches out to 7F.

7 Min to post...

Yeop! Agree this thread should die. Sorry I posted it. Took a rather strange turn.

BTW, MNR R2 had a +6 esd with top 4 trn on the filly spot play am testing.
Won but only paid $4.80. Test so far has 47 winners out of 105 bets with 1.29 roi.
Know it won't last but may quit my day job anyway :)

Tuff luck on the # 9 Glen! Makes me feel better about my $4.80 though.

Karl: Actually, I saved all of Frank's posts that were on-topic, as I do any posts that seem informative and interesting, which includes one that you made about the shoe board at Calder.

I don't agree that he redboarded, because he stated that he was analyzing retroactively. And I still don't see anything that hints that he was trying to sell us something. He did tend to ramble a lot, and he shared more of his personal business than most people would, but that's hardly the sign of a con man or a tout. It looked to me as though you overreacted by implying he was a con, much like Larry overreacted at his initial choice of "guru" for a name. I'm afraid we're going to have to agree to disagree on that one.

As far as PA's deleting Frank goes, a man who would have a friend take a picture of a person's house and publish it and personal information on the web (re: george/itm), and that would also publish an email sent privately to him on his web site (re frank or kat, I don't remember which), is the kind of person I really don't want much to do with, and the fact that he did these things does not speak well for him. And it really isn't fair that Frank was summarilly deleted, then talked about derogatorilly without a chance to defend himself, which speaks more volumes for PA. His vBB is set to high security which tells me that he's either paranoid or has had trouble with users in the past, neither of which is a healthy situation. I've only made a few posts there, and those are likely to be all for me.

Again, Karl: welcome to the board.
