Will SAR bet the 'graveyard of champions' on Saturday? On Friday, at 2/5 odds, champion mare Ashado was out of the money in the feature - bridge jumpers didn't extend themselves too much, but the show prices were pretty good for 6 horse field.
On Saturday, the pick4 at SAR is races 8-11; which includes 1/5 MLO Lost in the Fog running in the Kings Bishop (10th) and several other favorites including the heavily hyped Bellamy Road making his comeback in the Travers (11th).
If the hype proves true for all four legs, the pick4 might pay $12 ! It looks like a slam dunk for one or two horses in each leg and short fields in each. On paper, Lost in the Fog cannot lose, that will be a tempting target for the show plunger with a $100,000 to launder.
But Saratoga is the "graveyard of champions" and it seems likely there will be an upset in one of these races. Unbelievable card, like a Breeder Cup day.
