View Full Version : ESB alert.

One of my fellow posters at Yahoo was nice enough to refer me to a sports betting page indicating that players were having trouble getting paid from ESB.
So, I having been trying to get a withdrawal from my account for the last two days, no luck. Latest is "Withdrawals are only available Monday thru Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon". So I will try back then. Not holding my breath though. Their website has been down for a week now too.
A shame if the rumours are true, they did cover a lot of tracks, and they just moved to a 10% bonus system last week. Of course, 10% of nothing is still nothing and more than once in life I have had to discover that "if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
I'll post updates as my possibly sad saga continues.

Always one of the big fears about offshore....not getting paid. Hope you get your money!!

Carl,
Sorry to hear that. I am assuming that they covered some of the smaller tracks like CLS and FP? Where do you guys go (on the internet) to get bets down on these type of tracks?
Keep us posted, Carl......seems like you were hitting a few nice ones recently!

Cliff

I can't really see them going broke just before football season, would be like a retailer closing their doors in November to "avoid the Christmas rush".
Still sh*t happens, but hopefully things turn out O.K., they have been in business ten years and are pretty big. At worst, maybe someone will buy them out for the client base if nothing else.
Cliff,
They did cover a good selection of tracks, FP certainly, but not CLS or BRD types. I mostly liked the bonusing of 5%-10% over the track payouts on straight bets.

Didn't know that about ESB Carl. For once I'm glad I only have about $40 in my account right now. Placed a couple of bets there yesterday and nothing seemed abnormal. Will watch closely.

This is what is on there site right now, "Due to the vast amount of work being done on Telebet.com in
order to facilitate online wagering, the site has been experiencing some downtime. Please bear with us as we strive to take our customers to a higher level in the ultimate wagering experience. "
Looks like they are adding online wagering, I'll be happy if they do.

Thanks Fred4Now.
I did get through to their website by not using my favorites link, makes me feel a little better, thanks for the post.
I still plan to get a check from them before I do anything else bet wise with them though. I'll post how I do on Monday, then if/when check arrives. I can't be bothered calling in bets to them while I have doubts about getting paid, if I win it pisses me off, if I lose it pisses me off even more.
I'll just use Ladbroke till I get this straightened out to my satisfaction.

If they go to on-line wagering and they will pay you when you win. I'll have to give them some serious consideration. UBET is going the TVG route and is going to charge $0.25 per wager up to a max of $20. Of course if you wager $2500 a month or more they will wave the $20.00
I would prefer to support the tracks and horsemen with my wagers, but I'm not going to pay a surcharge for the privledge of making a wager when others are offering rebates.

They have always paid 5% on win wagers, but I wasn't aware that it had increased to 10%. Although lately every time I check my balance it is higher than I thought it was supposed to be, just thought it was their mistakes. If they go to online betting they will probably use computers to do the transactions instead of all the mistakes that get made now due to human error.

Well, I found a withdrawal form on their site (thanks Fred) and faxed it in.
I requested $500, supposed to have it in 72 hours or get paid a 10% bonus.
I will phone them to confirm they got it in the a.m. They are a weird company at the best of times, but I kind of like them (O.K. I like the 5%-10% bonusing, it adds up).
Will post news if/when it occurs.

Let us know if you get paid, that extra 5% has kept me afloat many times.

Everything working good so far.
1) I phoned this morning and they actually had my request for a withdrawal from the fax room already, had written my check, and just varified some information with me.
2) Said my check will be here within 72 hours.
3) When I called in today's bets, the money was out of my account.
4) But of course ESB missed a scratch, when I pointed it out they fixed it (they always do) but then apologized for missing it! In eight months that's a first 9or maybe a second).
5) For ESB to get this many things right first time around is quite remarkable for them. Even depositing with them is never this easy.
So.... will post back as events develop.

Got my check today from ESB, one week after I requested it.
This response time compares favorably IMO with OJC, Philly Phone Bet, Ohio Tab and CTOTB, all of which were closer to a week and a half when I requested funds.
So....ESB and I are back happy, especially with the 10% bonusing they are presently doing.

Carl......just curious. Do you open your ESB with US$ or Canadian and do they pay you US or Canadian?
Carl

You can specify which you want George. I try to keep my betting in American dollars as much as possible.
And from the look of the new website, http://www.telebet.com pretty soon you'll be able to bet in Rubles or Ruppies too.....

O.K. Cliff.
If you end up joining ESB, let me know, if you don't mind put me down as having refered you.
Gets me a $50 bonus, which never hurts either (you get some cool things for signing up to if you ask about what incentives they have at the moment.)

Ok, Carl,
Will do. It will probably be awhile as I am still in the process of figuring out what tracks I can bet where and what the pros/cons are for each entity.
