To Access 2000 experts,
Is there any way to increase the number of vertical rows (in the criteria section) in the table that pops up with "Create Query in Design View"? Cannot find this answer in the "Dummies" book even though I am still very qualified to be reading it.
Thanks to all,
Cliff

Cliff,
Probably the quickest way is to drag the * from the table list down and that will create boxs for all those fields.
You can also just drag down the fields you want.
There may be other ways but I can't get them to work right now.
Maybe someone else has some ideas.

Cliff I'm not sure I understand your question so I'll repeat what I think you mean.
In the desgin view of a query. you have the upper portion where you put the tables. and the lower portion where you specify the fields and criteria.
You put the field names in the column headings and you put the creteria (i.e. >=10. like *, etc.). In the rows.
You can insert a row by just clicking on insert on the tool bar and then click on row.
another way drag the cursor over to the left edge of the design grid and at the edge it will turn into a right pointed arrow left click and the entire row will be highlighted now while holding the left mouse down drag the mouse down and multiple rows will be highlighted. While they are highlighted go to insert and click on rows and you can insert however many rows you have high lighted.
If this isn't what you meant pretty much a waste of time but now you know how to insert rows should you ever want to:)

I think you got it right except I think he is talking about columns instead of rows.
I thought there was an easy way to insert new columns but I couldn't remember how to do it. Now with your instructions I can see that all you have to do is highlight the column(s) where you want to enter new ones and click Insert, Columns.
If you still have questions Cliff, just fire away.

Yep,
That's the answer guys......a couple of nice hints that I'll use many times later, I'm sure. Thanks for the responses!
