Hey Guys, Please note that you are asked to "post your picks, along with an explanation of what HTR factors lead you to pick same." That way perhaps duffers like me can learn something and improve. Also, it might make for interesting discussions of the factors involved.

Jackad,
It is an open board, and you are certainly invited to post your selections also. As to "duffer", well, when our horses win we are "geniuses" and when they lose we are "duffers". I think the Tiger Woods types in this game aren't saying too much, their only edge is us being duffers, and we are stuck with a situation of "those who can't, teach". So....
1) As to the phrase "and what HTR factors led you to pick same". That was my fault, those are the words that I used when I asked Rick to create this section for us to play in. If people want to say how they picked a winner or loser, that would be cool, but they are certainly not obligated too. I will say most of my plays are combinations of various rankings of <=3 in early speed, combined with mostly negative factors to get the price up.
2) Are you still using HSH? If so, maybe you could post a few of your selections using their numbers to see how they compare? That might be interesting.

Jack,
We are playing SAR this month anyone is welcome to post their picks. It's $100 a day to wager any way you want. Best ROI wins play all days or any day. Everyone keeps track of their own ROI. If you win during a day you can re-invest or roll your winnings on a daily basis but can't wager on winnings from previous days.
The grand prize is nothing so the contest is well worth the entry fee!!
Sometimes guys offer reasons mostly they don't, not because we are keeping it hidden but all that typing is a pain in the butt. If you see some picks and wonder why I'm sure if you ask the poster will be gald to offer his/her reasons. I bet exoctics and I'm just trying to put some contenders together. My primary tool for picking them is the Mike D number on the TLC and the PRAT (per) version. I don't follow any set rules except that I pass all races with first time starters, (except when I break this rule) I handicap based on what the numbers look like the odds and anything else that catches my one a race by race basis. Based on my results I won't be selling my picks over the internet anytime soon :)

Jack,
You are right that the "explanations" are helpful, especially to new users. Many of us did that when we first started. Problem is that most of us use the same approach each day and after a while it becomes redundant to restate the process.
Recently a few of us have used the selection board to experiment with different wagering techniques and have explained the approach to betting.
Think maybe there should be a section on the board "Tips for Newcomers" where some old time users might expound once on their approach and then new users would have one place to review all the "known" worthwhile selection processes.
