There is a click path that will get you error 3611 after error 1706
the SIMPLE solution is just what Rick said: UNINSTALL and REINSTALL

one CLUE to the solution is the HTR2.msi file in the TEMP folder on the C: drive.
SO, Windows 98SE has the SAME information in the TEMP folder as a Windows XP.
well, I did not take the time to test it because I do not to rick losing a week to restore
my laptop after encountering a ooOOPPS< should not have done that test!!
BUT, my hunch is: You delete your TEMP folder and eventually you can repeat this problem.
Well, I have a data mine that only has JULY 2004 and some of AUG 2004
So, IF you want to play will this problem, count me out.
