Cheap Maidens and PL1 vs PL5

I usually prefer the data that the PL5 mode in HTR provides to handicap most of the races , but I've been noticing that when it comes to cheap maiden claiming races the PL1 mode generally gives me stronger readings over PL5.

Does anyone else have any other data to support this?

Also, what's your favorite HTR readout(s) that you have found to be effective in cheapo maiden claimers?
