I'm not an HTR user but do have trouble with exotic wagering. My picks are OK, just have trouble configuring them into exotics. I always seem to miss the exactas/tris.

Bruce,
I too have/had problems with exotic wagering. You will find the Tomcat book to have some original ideas and exotic wagering formulas. Plus it opened my eyes on how to use some of Tomcats formulas and create my own wagering formulas. Very much worth the $20.

What I like about Tomcats book is that it gives you some ways to practice defensive wgering. We all like to hit home runs but it can get expensive and depressing as we have our butts kicked while we wait for the one that sails over the fence. Toms book gives you lots of ways to cash tickets so that you can get your money back or make a little so that you can live to play another day.

Thanks for the very kind comments. I can't beleive how well my first and probably only book has sold.
The first printing is just about sold out,and I need to contact the U of Kentucky about a second printing.
None of this would have been possible with out Ken Massa. I realize I'm just a customer of his, but as many of you already know, no one is just a customer.
It is his attitude of collegiality that has brought of us together. While horse playing is a fun hobby, the HTR friends that we have made over the years, has been the real payoff.
Thanks everyone!

Tom: in the small world dept. When I arrived at the racebook in Santa Rosa,Ca this week there was a guy who sits at the table next to me.......only this day he has your book....I ask him what did he think of it.......his reply was that he didn't know yet he was in the air port in Lexington the day before and had read it all the way home, this would be the first day to tyr it at the track.......we chatted for a while then I got to brag a little by telling him that I was the guy that had endorsed it from San Francisco,Got to show off my signed copy, he thought that was cool. I went away to do my handicapping ........the next day he is back with the book.....we didn't talk but he gave me a nod and a thumbs up as he headed to the window.

Ernie, you are best.
It gets kind of funny when sitting at the track discussing wagers where others are listening, but don't know what you are talking about.
"Should we do the big Ernie or the little Ernie? Well, the Mike is a little low, I think it should be a modified Ken."
We get the strangest looks and even more when we go cash the tickets.
