Another huge showing for the HTR players at the Gold Coast.

The following HTR subscribers picked up prize money + qualified for the 'World Series of Handicapping' - either by themselves or as partners =

Rick Newton
Donnie Nadermann
Ken Massa
Gary Triplett
Bill Hogarth
Jerry Pagels
John Buls
Mike Dee
Tom Walters

Bob Barbaro also won prize money but just missed the qualifying brackett.

Rick Newton was the big HTR cash collector this time, he picks up about $25,000 for finishing 3rd on one entry and 18th on the other. Wow - outstanding Rick!

Donnie had a near record day on Friday with over 19,000 points scored on the entry we shared and it garnered day money of $1000. That entry also finished 6th overall. There were more than 730 players in the contest and the competition was savage, as hundreds of the top handicappers in America were there hoping to get an invitation to the 'World Series' finals in January.

Congratulations to all our players. At least a dozen other entries from our group finished in the top 100 as well and they were basically one winner away from cashing in. Most will be back in October for the Orleans and I betcha we get 10 more qualifiers.

Tons of points gathered all-around by the group as whole. The seminar + tournament combo worked great and the meeting on Wed was a real catharsis for the main event the next day.

Thanks to all of you for coming to Vegas and being part of terrific week and we'll do this again next year.

Terrific news. Congratulations to all. The good energy and enthusiasm at the seminar clearly carried over into the tournament. It's great to put a face together with some names now. Thanx to Ken, Mike, Donnie and Tom for a chock full seminar. Folks couldn't have been more gracious and kind. Look forward to seeing you all again.

Way to go all! That is a fabulous showing for HTR. The seminar was great and I appreciate all of the efforts of the organizers for putting this thing on. I learned a lot and have already put some of the new aspects of HTR2 into use.

For what its worth (and it ain't much after hearing of the exploits of you folks at the Gold Coast), the one-day, piddly 8 race contest at CNL on Saturday was better than the first one a month ago. It took about 80 bucks to win it, which ain't much and pretty much results from the few longer price horses to get in. Fogelsonger had about 5 winners on the day which was largely the cause of the lower price horses. I finished about 18th.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I hope that everyone who attend the access portions of the seminar got something out of it. I really enjoyed seeing all the HTR vets again and meeting all the new HTR members.

I just can't help but believe that using HTR software in the Gold Coast events gives HTR members a trememdous edge over the field. When you consider the high number of in the money finishers versus the total number of HTR entries, you can't help but feel this way.

Our group represented about 5% of the entries in the Gold Coast contest, but took down about 20% of the qualifying spots. I.V. (impact value) = 4.00 !!

Congratulations to all the qualifiers. That's a GREAT finish to a really wonderful week.

If you missed the seminar, please, please start making plans to be there next year.

As mentioned in some of the other posts, the content was fantastic. I was one of the ones leaving Donnie's workshop bleary eyed at 10:00 Wednesday night, with a lot of information to digest. As good as the content was, I really appreciated the fellowship (that includes Barbara B., Val and the other ladies in attendance). Being able to put a face and voice to the posts is fantastic.

Thanks Ken, Donnie, Mike and Tom Cat for your presentations.

Who knows? Maybe you'll see me at the Gold Coast in October!!

The seminar was great, and the presentations were enthusiastically presented, skillfully done, and full of good useful info. And it was fun to meet the members and put faces to names.

I was thrilled to learn that so many HTRers hit paydirt and also qualified for the big one in January. I, alas, did not (see my avatar!!). I was fine until the last day, when I thudded groundward.

How many points:

Won?
Qualified for the Orleans?
Got money?

Best to all...

Bill - thanks - nice meeting you too - good try in tourney.

Winner had about 36,000 points (same as last year) and top 3 were over 30,000.

Top 40 was about 23,000 to qualify and around 22,000 to get a check.

Last year it only took 20,400 to get a check (top 50), so it was a tougher and larger group of players.

Expect the October Orleans to have another big turnout as it is the last major opportunity to qualify for the World Series and save the $2000 buy-in. They will take the top-50 (or more depending on the number of entrants).

We will be having our Summer HTR Tourney the final two weeks of August concluding Labor Day weekend. Announcement and details coming in the August newsletter. Everyone will want to get involved and try for the first prize ---- a free $500 entry at that Oct Orleans big one.
