Well, Glen had a great day...Mike..you just missed a nice pick 3...
since Glen had a great day I figure I will do exactly opposite of what he is doing hoping for regression to the mean..:D

So, $5 bets....if one wins ..add one unit.in the next race.or a 10$ bet..if he wins add anouther unit..$15 to win in the next race...if he loses back to the $5.00 bet...until the money runs out anyway.

Lol George...Well since most people know my stance on gambling (gambling is bad), I don't think that will be necessary. This is all fun and games...No real money exchanged between parties<g>.

Hey Hurrikane at least you got the bal number heading in the right direction. I hit that tri in the 7th ($125), better take a rest.

I see Jim Cramer has joined the board, welcome Jim. I guess we'll have to stop bad mouthing the Cramer speed figs.:D

You are on a roll now Mike. Said you would go right by us with a couple tri's. Nice work.

Big fan of those awful Cramer numbers. Welcome Jim.

BTW, if Harry H hits his 2-5-9 tri in the ninth it will pay as of now $19845. Think we would have to concede if that happens :)

Way to go Mike...hope you're playing with real money too!

George had a nice parlay of plays today..

And Mr progressive ends up ahead.

One last chance to win the elusive dime. Maybe next week I'll get to do some real playing..maybe even get to bet.

Jim...welcome aboard...and about those numbers...

Hurrikane.......Thanks for the mention but I actually had a bad day due to chalk. Last two days have been too busy to post and had three nice longshots. Today....nada !

Meanwhile you are right, Mr. Progressive keeps sailing along. My paper tests keep showing me really bad losing streaks even with high percentage plays. When one goes on one of those streaks it will quickly wipe out all the prior gains plus some!! That is based on $2 progressions, bigger ones would hurt worse.

I can see that if tracks selected are picked carefully the progression might never hit the big losing run. I would hate to test that theory with my money. Wish Glen the best of luck on it.
Besides he can afford it after a few P4'S. :)

Glen

George, Have you tried the progession numbers on lower % higher mutual plays...Maybe something around 30% to 35%? IMHO, the 50% will average about $4 or $5 avg mutual therefore not taking full advantage of the progession larger bet....
ie...
$20 to win on $4 winner =$40
vs
$20 to win on $8 winner =$80

George

You are right Glen. Have been testing in 42-60% range and avg mutuel does hurt the progression. Did one on a 33% play and it returned much better. Still had several streaks of 10 in a row out and one of 16 out but the higher returns made a better net. Am also testing across "all" tracks which is not what a smart player would do. Guarantee doing the progression at ELP or FE would lead to being on welfare shortly.

As the old cop on Hill Street used to say "be careful out there" !!!!
