TRN is history - web site has this message =
Bensalem, PA (July 30, 2001) TRN, The Racing Network LLC is suspending it's broadcast operations, effective today. Despite an industry inclusive approach that simulcast over 90 thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racetracks, the multi-channel, direct-to-home broadcast provider was unable to achieve the subscriber growth necessary to sustain
operations.

Hi Ken, I have been a subscriber of TRN for quite awhile not, and enjoyed be able to watch the races at home. Do you know of anyone else that provides the same service?
Thanks, John aka Shadow

John, TV-G is the only other possiblity. But they don't have the TRN tracks on yet. That may happen at some point and TV-G will be a monopoly. Their financial status is pretty bad as well though, and there is plenty of bickering going on between the Stronach gang (TRN tracks) and the Churchill/NYRA folks (TV-G).
Internet live video is only other possibility - but that is a pain compared to sitting on one channel on your television, becauase you have to continually switch back and forth. Without high-speed Internet, this is not a good option beyond watching one track.
I know a couple of guys that get the same satellite feed as the Vegas racebooks. It must be illigal because when I ask them how they got that setup, they reply with a wink and a smile.
I'm afraid the TRN customers have been sent up the creek without a paddle.
