When i go to scratches and set for a wet track, I don't find that HTR picks those pacelines. For example, today at KEE if I go to Fig 1 after setting to wet track, wet races are bracketed indicated not consistent with todays conditions. Shouldn't the pace line selection change/

PL 1,2,3 are based on strict parameters and are not required to choose a wet track when you change to "wet".

PL-4
Will select only fast dirt lines normally (if today's race on dirt). If you switch a race to "wet" it can select a "wet" or "fast" race depending on the similarity to today's distance and the quality of the outing (it is looking for the best effort). PL-4 never goes back more than 6-months in any case.

PL-5
has the most flexibility in choosing lines that are representative for velocity matchups in today's race. It can select a "wet" line even if the track is fast. If you change the race to "wet" surface from the Scratch screen, PL-5 algorithm gets more latitude to choose races run on wet tracks, but is not required to select them and does recognize unusual efforts.

Years and years of exhaustive research and realtime betting experience with PL selection make it clear that choosing "wet" pacelines is a sure fire loser, no matter what the track condition. "Wet" tracks today are a huge variance of surface conditions that we just cannot pin down, so figures based on them are volatile for the horse. Pedigree information based on "wet" is likewise difficult to assess for this reason.

If you want a strict accounting of all horses in the race based on "wet" only, then switch to PL-0 and choose those lines manually. But results will not be dependable and many horses will have very good or very bad efforts on "wet" that won't be repeated because many "wet" races are unique and fluke experiences.
