Thanks Mike...think everybody is having fun with Saratoga.

I am having a wonderful meet in "real world" so far.
Hammered the ninth race today with a great $19 winner and $89 exacta
on Serrah Lake. The new "advanced" PP's pointed it out. Thanks to Ken for
continuing to find new ways to present the data.

PS: The "Mike D" number 2 ranking on the # 5 didn't hurt either :)

well, here I thought I would get to handicapp a card and I didn't even get to play. Great picks guys....

Along with George I would like to thank Ken for the new PPs...

Mike....have you done any studies on you number in TLC looking at the difference from 1st to 2nd..like >10 pts >5 etc. Just curious..noticed some dominate looking horses which of course came off as chalk but good keys in he exotics. Just curious if you have any info on the WPS%

Hurrikane & George,

First day back from non-stop work, both at work and home!! I don't think I have had such a bad case of this since I don't know when. Was just wondering what you guys are zeroing in on in the new PP's. What are you finding especially helpful over standard PP's..? Last week I think I had time to look thru one card with them, but not much more than that!

Looks like a lot of people have come to life since moving the tack to Saratoga! Way to go, all. Maybe later I can get a bet or two in. -----after I raise the privacy fence that is!!

BTW---those of you thinking of using Qwest for DSL....they are now telling us it will be another 8-10 days before we get hooked back up at home. We moved 6 blocks and it takes 30+ days for someone to find and flip a switch!! Unbelievable!!

BOL all!

Donnie....moving is such a wonderful character building experience. Plus I always find all the neat "stuff" have misplaced over the years.
Whats a little inconvenience like slow internet compared to that !!

The new pp's appeal to me mostly because of the use of the cramer numbers. Can see "class" at a glance by scanning the race cramer, horse cramer, and especially the horses "average" number. Speed in last ninety days is also helpful.

None of the above is what pointed out Serrah Lake.
The "comments" which we couldn't see in the old pp were the key to the race. While I am a big fan of Beautiful Pleasure the last four comment lines indicated a horse with a problem. "DRIFTED OUT" is a sign of a tired, winded horse.

The new performance screen told me that Serrah Lake was 5 of 6 at-the-distance (old pp had that)
and new PP told me Edgar Prado was on board.

Comparing the two horses on the pp looked to me like #2 was fresh and improving and BP was going downhill. Concluded the crowd was betting the legend rather than current form.

Interesting that chart for the race has the comment "drifted out in stretch, steadied" for BP.

George,
Yeah, talk about finding stuff I haven't seen in years...

Nice job in scoping out that race!

...one of the reasons I have been REAL slow in getting back to people...don't have access at home right now...Sue got mad at the DSL people and told them to shove it up their ...well you know....the final result is that somehow our request for relocation turned into a disconnect and we would have to put on the end of a wait list to reactivate!! UNBELIEVABLE! Today they were talking 10-15 BUSINESS DAYS!! YIKES!!

I called @Home today and they told me I could be hooked up tomorrow! Cool!

Go figure!

Donnie, I have @home...they told me tommorrow too..go the card..set it up ...called to register...yes sir..it will take 5 business days to activate..actually took 2 weeks..still had problems and that turned out to be the card...on top of that I"m fighting with them now because they want to charge me for all the time I've had it even though it didn't work....

Maybe it's just me.....

Donnie....my problems with @home were far worse than the one's reported by Hurrikane.
Took three months to get it to work, sometimes.

Second happiest day of my life was when I got it.
Happiest was when I got rid of it.

I've had @home before, but now it is being run by a different outfit here in Des Moines. They actually allow you to hook it up yourself, which I have no doubts I will be able to do! At least with @home I was able to actually talk to someone! Sue spent 3 hours yesterday (that is NOT an exaggeration!!) trying to cancel our DSL and as of yet we are not sure whether it has been permanently cancelled! She finally got PO-ed and fired off a cancellation letter to the CEO. She went to their website and got his email address. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but still wonder what ever happened to customer service...??

Quick follow up. Called Tuesday to have @Home hooked up. They came the next day. He was at the house for about 10 minutes. I ordered the "self-install". They hooked up to the modem but not to the computer...that would be my job. Was too busy to finish till yesterday. Took 10 minutes (honest)....we are up and flying!! They have a Virtual Technician CD that does everything for you --- if you know anything about computers, it was WAY sweet! I think sometimes you get an installer who doesn't know your system and has trouble knowing exactly what needs to be installed!

Very Happy.... going back to You Bet is the next step!

With trn out of business:( I'm thinking about going with a DSL since I already have UBET. At least should be able to watch the high speed races with an improved connection.

I have signed up to be a beta tester for the new tracks with UBET. It looks like the beta test will be starting soon, perhaps next week. They have picked a mix of the current tracks and TVG tracks for beta testing. DMR and SAR are both on the beta list.

With the wreck of TRN and the partnership of UBET and TVG, UBET could be on the verge of a major increase in their business. Maybe they will make it after all.

Mike,
You may want to see if you can get a 30 day trial period...otherwise here they sign you up for one year contract...which THEY broke because they cancelled our service although we wanted to have it transferred and can't reach their support after 3 hours of trying. Also one problem we had was that the DSL hung for 2 minutes at a time...system appears to freeze up, but comes back after a minute or two...so get your bets in early!! :D
