You would thing that NYRA would know when SAR opens, but I'm pretty sure they open next Wed. July 25th.

Hey Neil, do me a favor while you are there at CLN. Walk down to the finish line and tell me they do have a camera and it really isn't those 2 guys standing there trying to figure out who won!

Hurrikane:

I've been there and there are 2 guys at the finish line. By the way, Hardy said to say hello. Laurel was his usual quiet self.

Jim,
This astounds me. I was watching the races yesterday and they had 4 or 5 photo finishes and in most every race there was a wall of horses at the finish...even if you could easily see the winner, place and show were a guess at best. Also, each so called 'photo the public can't see anything because the horses are behind the finish post so every one depends on these two clowns to figure it out.

I can imagine there is a whole lot of screaming at them on the close ones..maybe even a stay can of coke thown at a head or two...what a way to do business.

Tell Hardy hi..tell Laurel to quiet down...

Easy to judge the results of photo finishes at Cnl - my horses aren't in them!

It's a beautiful track, modern, colonial (brick) style grandstand, with two turf courses and a dirt track that, in two days, has only been used for one race but which they groom in between each race! Parking free, entry $2 to the grandstand. You can see the paddock from the grandstand. Betting lines have been no more than two deep. Yesterday there was a huge motorcycle show (hence, the place was packed). Similar to every small track I've been to (but this one seems worse than others), odds melt down at post time - I bet on a horse at 9-1 5mtp that went off at 3-1... and finished 3rd! There have been quite a few close finishes in the past couple of days - but horses I like have been a non-threatening third. Beautiful weather this weekend for VA - no humidity, and high 70s! Come on down! Incidentally, post time Fri-Sun is 1pm, Mon & Tues 4pm, Wed & Thurs dark.
