Bonus Contests begin this FRIDAY SEPT 12.
Rick and I will begin setting up a forum for the bonus contests. All of you that participated in our recent summer tournament will be able to join in one or both.
BEAT KM SHOWDOWN

All players from the recent summer HTR tournament are eligible. Rick will post a list each day of the surviving players.
Prize for the lone survivor = $100 + 1 free entry in our Winter tournament; as well as tremendous respect and adulation from your HTR peers!
Basic format is to select a horse that will finish 1-2-3 in the designated race each day at BEL.
Add comments about why you picked your horse if you wish.
We will post one designated race each day from BEL. Your task is to select a horse and one alternate (in case of scratch) that will finish 1-2-3 in the race (official finish after DQ). If you choose two scratched horses, you get the post time favorite as your selection. We will ignore races with coupled entries, so that is not an issue.
The two entries that beat KM in the main tourney, "Jockeyjoe2" and "WesB1", receive one free "get out of jail" pass. If they fail to get their horse into the money once, they will receive a second chance.
If you had multiple entries in the Summer contest, you can use them all as separate entries here.
If you miss one day in the contest or don't make a pick, you are eliminated. If your pick finishes 4th or worse, you are eliminated.
KM, KORKY and RICKS are eligible to win the 1st prize in this contest and will be selecting as well.
PICK A DOG CONTEST

The contestants here are only those that scored lower than "Korky" in the Summer contest. Rick will post a list of eligible players daily.
1st Prize = $100 + 1 free entry in the Winter contest
Using the same designated BEL race as the other contest, your task is to find a horse that will finish among the LAST 3 official placings. In other words, try to pick the worst "dog" in the race and hope it doesn't wake up on you. If your horse finishes better than the last 3 finishers, you are eliminated. Sole player remaining, gets the prize. Korky is eligible and can keep the prize for his master if he wins. Webmaster Rick also gets a shot here.
