I wasn't able to attend the seminar. 1st year since I joined HTR that I didn't make it
I'm really impressed with the new workout number. I never really paid much attention to works as a number..just frequency. This new rating has some punch to it.
Iwas wondering how the number is created and what goes into it. What are the strengths and weaknesses noticed so far.

Hi, Kane,
I'll give ya the Reader's Digest version and leave the rest to KM.
Ken told us it looks for patterns of works and races in a horse's record, not individual works or speed. I 've foun dit usefull so far with Shock Speed, and in combination with trainer and class drops.
TomCat had a whole trifecta model built around K and WK that he is using.
Sorry you werent' at the seminar-I was hoping to meet you. This was my first, and not my last, fer sure!

HK - August newsletter has the skinny on the workout rating. Tbrown has it summarized perfectly - not a conventional workout monitor, looking for patterns not blitzes. Results are excellent with longshots and for finding horses with nothing else to clue them to blockbuster payoff. When combined with certain factors - almost anything that is not chalk related - it improves performance of that factor.
