Any one have the 3 in race 8 (the contest race)? If not, can any one share why they might have gone with it after the fact?

Looks like 64 people out of 3200+ had it in the contest. I was surprised it was that many.

What contest??
Which Contest Race was it Cliff? Did you have to have all picks in before the first post or could you enter them in race by race? One reason, if race by race and somewhat into the contest, might be: here is a 10-1 who tries in every race who is unknown in the states, 1st time lasix with 4 works within 24 days, with the best pedigree figure in this race. But then again it could be because the horse was rated second in Ken's new workout rating category!!:D

Seriously, looks like he was in tough, but he was an unknown with a lot going for him...just the kind that hit during the contests while the public is looking over the speed figures to set that odds-line!

Whoops,

Sorry, Donnie, assumed everyone was playing. www.dmtc.com meet long contest with the winner going to LV. Picks must be in by a certain time every day. One race per day W/P/S with $100 to apply any way you want.

If memory serves me correctly, a lot of longshots hit the first few days of the contest last year and most people were out of it after the first week. Played a LS just not the right one. Was looking strictly at DOS figures. Will take a look in Windows. Thanks for the feedback.

Cliff,
Shipper from overseas and first USA start. Two turf sprint wins, four works in 24 days, #1 pedigree rank, first time lasix. I didn't have him.:(

I am in the contest and I had four contenders in that race - the two favourites and the 3 and 4. I agonized between the two and picked the 4, who was fourth.

But I thought the 3 was very live in what was a weakish race. He had mostly been sprinting in Britain but is bred to go longer. He had been working well for a trainer that is okay off the layoff and who had a first-time US horse run very well in the Oceanside split. His British turf races were good. Except for the poor end-of-season effort he was never worse than second and was beaten only a few lengths by Tout Seul in the Shergar Cup at Ascot. Tout Seul came back to win the Dewhurst, Britain's championship race for two-year-olds.

I know I'm not using a lot of HTR terms here but in a situation like this one I'm not sure how much it can help.
