Big one coming up on Thursday at the Gold Coast in Vegas. I'll be leaving on Wed to join Ernie, BobbyB, Barbara "Leaky Eyes" Buckley, John Buckley, TommyC, Mike Mayo and others from HTR competing for the $100,000 top prize. If you going, please chime in here or definitely stop by and say hello to me Thur, Fri or Sat.

This tournament has no NTRA quallys and no day money. It's all or nothing at the end. 15 plays per day, $200 wp format. AP, BEL, ELP, DEL, HOL, CRC and LAD.

Will report nightly during tourney on results and happenings. Check Thursday night late for first report. Good luck to all the HTR players enroute.

Good luck to all participating. Had it originally on my "to do" list but too much going on around here to make it.

Also, as mentioned to Ken, thought I might skip the first one in hopes that the ol' tote machine malfunctions weren't just a product of me staying at any Coast property. Hope ya'll have clear sailing and hit some big ones!

Thursday July 10 at the Gold Coast Handicapping Championship - DAY 1

About 500 entrants at the Gold Coast playing for $200,000 in prizes. It was wild and wooley on day one and many HTR players are right in the thick of it. This contest has such extreme scoring swings ($200 wp point format - 15 plays per day) that the first day is almost meaningless as a single bomb will turn the standings upside down. Place points also make things more unpredictable when players are swinging for the fences and some big ones finished 2nd today. Bob Ramos (100 ACES) did drive all the way from ChiTown for this one and he sat at our table along with TommyC and MikeM; Ernie, BobbyB, and John & Barb Buckley were all nearby. More tomorrow.

Day 2

Because they used HOL Friday night card - no standings for Day-2 until the morning - tougher on Friday- mostly chalk after MTH - many of us still in there with a shot some cash.

Another HTR player: George Smith is also here.

Cliff: no sleep and no AAAA yet !!

Hello Boys,

Sorry to report I am out of the money at GC but, having a great time. However, some good news! A couple our HTR brethren have a shot at cashing including M Mayo and Massa.

Ronnie & Donnie, I'll see you guys at KEE. Will look for you at AP too Ronnie. I'll be there!

Gold Coast Tourney is hiistory. No bugaboos this time, contest well run. Massive scoring blowout in this one - tremendous point totals - tons of bombs. About 500 participants. Top 5 HTR finishers -->

58th Tommy Castillo
65th Ken Massa.
74th Mike Mayo
118th Bob Ramos
158th Ernie Logsdon

No money though, they only paid thru 50th place.
We hit our share of bombs, but so did many others.

Bob (100 Aces) Ramos alerted me to a last minute 30/1 winner at LAD that made our day - thanks Bob - it was a wild weekend - enjoyed sitting with you, a real pro.

Ken,

Glad you scored on that 30/1 at LAD. Too bad it wasn't enough to move you into the money. Thanks again for cutting me in on your winning wager. It was unnecessary but, a classy act.

Mike & Tommy,

Thanks for inviting me to sit at your table during the contest. It was my pleasure and honor to rub elbows with you guys. Next time I will try not to so monopolize the conversation.

See you boys at KEE in a couple of weeks.

Best Regards,
