About half the time spent running reports on queries is taken up by Access formatting the page to "print" it to my screen. Is there any way to bypass this and just have it dump the results directly?

Tom
when I want to print out of access I run the query and then click on the print preview (the icon with the page and magnifing glass). Once it goes to the print preview mode. I click on the down arrowhead nxt to the office links icon, (the one with the word "W" on it) then click on the analyize it with excell. this outputs your query to excell. Once in excell I use the print formating of excell which is mcuh easier to use for a quicke print then the report formatting.

I knew Mike would have a good answer. I think why it takes the reports along time is, it actually has to run the queries again to get the data for the report.
I do most of my ROI type reports with the formulas right in the report. About the same speed but alot less writing to the hard disk. If you have the CPU power, it works well.

the other thing you can do is just do a file print and it will print the query just the way you see it on the screen.
