I was going to pick CNL only because George hates them but that would be mean. :D

So it's DEL...a card with a few mdns a few NW1 and a stk. hmm...maybe the turf would have been better.

Glen..you know..thinking back Rhonda would have probably won the first contest but she quit..why don't loan her a 1000 HTR chips and tell her to play. :p

Ok...I'll jump right in trying a crazy turf bomb, see if I can't jump out to the front.....you know those *F horses...

5 DEL
$1 tri
6-8-5/6-8-5-11/1-6-8-5-10-11....$36 total

Where does a guy pick up his chips around here? Count me in for the month fellas! Ohhh and welcome Butch...becareful, people tend to grow on ya around here! Ask questions, read back-posts, share findings!

It's raining like the dickens here in Iowa...if you are playing the big stakes here this weekend you may want to check the weather! Tonight should be muddy! Been raining most of the night!

The $400K Cornhusker is this weekend and Dixie Dot Com is here getting aclimated to the track. Sir Bear is flying in as well...some good horses this weekend! It is our Festival Of Horses, so don't be surprised George, if you see Shino here off and on all weekend! He'll be on some live ones!! :-)

BOL all!

George

Thanks for the Shino warning. Been hitting him at CBY pretty well.

Have severe attack of w**k, but will try to post something for DEL later. Have to, or Hurrikane will post CNL (turfitis) tomorrow.

Hey Wiz- have a great time at Canterbury...I lived in MPLS for 10 years and loved that track. Don't know if it's still speed favoring or not, but used to be extremely speed biased on the sprints! Beautiful track nonetheless! Enjoy!

You from these parts?

Maybe this would be a good time to insert an ammendment...? Like...

"A person can buy in for another $1000 if he taps out early, but can only claim 1/2 of all mutuels returned on that second bankroll."

LOL....

I'll be with ya soon buddy....I never play exactas so my bet is an auto-doom!!

Whatta day!! Caught few nice fish on the Jellystone & grab the early HTR July lead. Visions of HTR panties dancing in my head already!!

I collected $370 HTR chips on $150 bet & I'd just as soon stay @ the track that got me the "F" start.....Del: an original colony for the 4TH but not too Colonial for George

Glen
3rd July 2001, 07:23.50 PM
Nice pickin MtKen. Looked like the horse was going to take it all the way!

MtKen
3rd July 2001, 08:07.55 PM
Thanks Glen:

Didn't see it & just as well. When those ESDs or EV1's get loose & then get those strides get shorter & shorter in the stretch & my blood pressure goes higher & higher & the strides get shorter still & the wire doesn't come quick enough & then I usually break a pen or a mouse or something:D @ least I'm home alone most of the racing day when I am watching.

Too bad there isn't a side pool for horses leading @ the top of the stretch.

Glen
3rd July 2001, 08:17.59 PM
True Ken...To bad there isn't a pool for horses leading at the top of the stretch...In my early days of HTR, I kept a spreadsheet on where the winner was (at stretch call, 2nd call, 1st call) for each race/track I played. Was really good stuff, but now I'm way tooo lazy to keep track of all that. Rather have the computer think for me...

MtKen
3rd July 2001, 08:55.30 PM
I often think I should take advantage of replays or, at least, charts & then its pretty darn hard to find time or ambition. I used to hate to bet back a horse like the one I had tonight that got loose & lost a lead. I don't get regular pp's anymore so I can't tell if an EV1 or ESD dueled or was alone on the lead. Glen or anyone have any thoughts on those?

hurrikane
4th July 2001, 09:16.00 AM
Oh..that's real nice..hit a friggin triple and it only pays 27.00. Net return -8. Doesn't seem fair.

Any one notice I started us in the wrong month. Might be a new screw up to attach my name too..

Nice start folks.

Donnie
4th July 2001, 09:47.19 AM
You mean you actually did mis-post?? Geez, Hurrikane, I thought we were following George's lead some time back where we use the wrong day to cap today's races...!! And he won!! Trully amazing program, this HTR.

Is DEL the track again today...or are we taking the day off, since most of us don't have to w**k??

MikeDee
4th July 2001, 09:55.43 AM
don't you hate it whe you hit a tri and it pays less then you wagered:)

I don't see any reason not to play for those that can. I have to get mine in early since will be with friends and family today.

Glen

Good question MK. Ken did a newsletter a while back where he indicated that dueled was a positive comment. If I'm going to put some money on a horse, I will usually look at PRAT and PP <screen 5> at the same time. I too am usually too lazy to go back and look at the charts. Being Ev players, I don't see the value in going back and betting the horse next time out. Especially if you are looking for good odds. Your 7-1 horse yesterday will be the 3-1 or less next out and might go off as the favorite...
