Im thinking about joining the dish network so i could get TVG. Does anyone have TVG? If so how do you like it?

Its great compared to the alternative. It's free with the Dish Network so no complaints here. Think all horseplayers should have it.

Just got it Wednesday - love it. They do't carry all races at the tracks, and sometimes they show them a few minutes late, but it is MUCH better than anything I've ever seen on the web.
I got the dish just for the TVG _ I have cable.

Last week I had Dish Network turned off. The only reason I had it was for TVG. I also have cable so much of the stuff was not needed. I decided to go back with YouBet even though I can't bet with them I can get the video feeds from ALL the tracks they carry. TVG does not have many of the tracks that YouBet has. Also there is not a bunch of talkingheads and the same commericals over and over.
I do miss TVG but not that much. Maybe someday we will be able to watch and wager what we want and when we want and from where we want.

TV-G is much better from April to October than right now. CD, KEE, HOL, DMR, BEL and SAR along with AP, MTH and all the night tracks.
Charles brings up the TV-G 'talking heads' and I guess everyone finds them annoying and a waste of time. In fact, they show many races on tape delay because of their studio people gabbing on and it is very frustrating when you were hoping to see a race live. TV-G is at its best on slow Monday and Tuesday when they just play elevator music and all the races are shown live unless there is an overlap, because they studio people are off.
One night while covering Los Alamitos the camera was following "The Angry Man" in the grandstand- this guy was flailing around and seemed to be yelling at everyone including horses. All of us that are regulars at Los Al know this poor guy - he is mentally retarded and physically handicapped. The TV-G studio people were laughing and mocking him as the cameraman continued to film for a minute or more, ridiculing his antics. My advice to TV-G: get rid of those clowns and just show us horse races! If they want to do news and commentary or selections, then do it before or after the races. What a great job they do on Saratoga TV and many other track feeds prior to the first race - very interesting stuff - but they don't tell jokes while the races are going off.
